I'm undecided about what if threads, but the one subject that keeps nagging at me is what if George Lazenby had accepted the 7 film contract? Would it have killed the franchise? How different would the films have been.
I could talk for hours on this but in short I think it would haave been a roaring success.
Looking at George in Return of the Man from Uncle shows he could still be believable as Bond until at least Octopussy - so that would have been 8 films!
In fantasy land I would have Peter Hunt return to direct DAF as a hard revenge movie, followed with Live and let die and MWTGG.
TSWLM is great as it is, so would just sunsitute RM for GL. I think Moonraker would have happened whoever was in the lead role, so love it or hate it, it would happen. John Glen and Lazenby would have made a fabulous 3 films together.
Downside of course is that maybe Dalton wouldn't have gotten the job coming staright after GL.
In an ideal world I'd have all the films as they are, but with a few more George movies in between and at least one extra Dalton film.
