American Colour Still sets

I recently bought the series of US Pressbooks from Dr No through to FYEO. I believe they stopped producing pressbooks at this point as I cannot see any reference to one for Octopussy, but please correct me if I am wrong.

The question is, I assumed that the US 8x10 colour still sets (similar to the UK FOH sets) also ran from Dr No to roughly AVTAK, but in the Pressbooks, mention is only made of these sets from OHMSS to FYEO, no mention from Dr No.

Please can someone tell me, from which film to which film these were produced?

Many thanks.

I'm not sure for certain either but I know the German Lobby Cards ran from Dr No - The World Is Not Enough, so don't know about the US versions.

Maybe someone else will be able to clear this one up?

And the UK sets ran from Dr No to LTK...

I must admit in times past, I have never seen US 10x8 sets for films prior to OHMSS for sale, but I thought this was only due to their scarcity. Perhaps not.

We will see what the world has to say.

Yes, Simes, you are correct. There were pressbooks produced in the US for DR. NO through FYEO. National Screen Service printed 8x10 color still sets for OHMSS through A VIEW TO A KILL. NSS also printed 11x14 lobby card sets of 8 for DR. NO through A VIEW TO A KILL, plus DIE ANOTHER DAY, as well as the 4 major double bills. There are lobby cards floating around for other Brosnan and Craig titles, stating 'Printed in the USA', but these originated in Asia and I think they are bogus, with spelling errors on the bottom border, etc.

    Hi Dr,

Many thanks for the confirmation of the Pressbooks and Still sets questions.

I must admit to believing the originality of the other 11x14 Lobby cards. I just believe these to be the results of everything having gone International now. I sort of move around in collecting circles (as maybe you do too) and I always to try to get the items from respected dealers. To this end, my questions as to their respected authenticity have also been voiced and, as far as one can believe, have been happily dealt with.

I do wonder about the 10x8 stills that were released for CR and QoS, and are just smaller versions of the 11x14s. The last US set being in 1985, the last UK set being 1989, and now in 2006 and 2008, we get two new 10x8 sets... This does make me wonder.
