I watched die another day recenatly and i was appaled by how there was heaps of things from other bonds.
1. you see the fleming book birds from the west indies
2. girl coming from sea- dr no
3.in goldefinger bond meets goldfinger and beats him at his own game-golf.
in dad bond meet gustav and beets him in his own game-fencing
4.you see crocodile and jet from octopussy
5. attache case and knife shoe from FRWL
6.union jack parachute
7 laser torture-goldfinger you see

I think that was the point. As it was the 40th Anniversary they wanted to have nods to the previous 19 films. Some bits worked better than others IMO

Indeed--it was widely advertised before the film came out that there would be nods to all the previous Bond films. If you don't like them, fine; but it's not like they tried to sneak something over on us!

I'm still not exactly sure why they did all the reference to past films either. I think people were forgetting that each actor was playing the same character. Just with a differrent take suited to the actor's strengths. It's also not the best thing that the director of Die Another Day thought that the James Bond name was a code name. It's something I think the director of Quantum of Solace might subscribe to with the whole Mathis scene. I have a hard time deciding which is the worst Bond film. Either Die Another Day or Quantum of Solace. Anyway, I do wish the references in Die Another Day were smaller references like the grape scene taken from Thunderball.
