Is it Ilse or Jlse Steppat?

I was looking at one of my 6 signed photos of Ilse Steppat today & all of them have her name printed at the bottom of the photo with the signature above.

On one of them it says 'Jlse Steppat' rather than 'Ilse Steppat' like the rest do. So does anyone here know if she is sometimes called Jlse or is it a print mistake? :s ?:)

Scans can be added if requested.

Wish I was lucky enough to have one to compare to!
Spoke to my Swiss connection and they seem to think it's a handwriting slip up. No such name as Jlse

Ah righty! You can pick one up for around £80 on Ebay - ouch!

Many thanks for clearing that one up, did initially think it was a printing error.

It's pretty obvious to me that whoever did the print confused the "I" in her signature with a "J"--though, frankly, the "I" looks more like a "T" to me!

It must be a printing error - it's Ilse, although I don't have one myself :(

Didn't know you had 6 of them Jamie!

I must admit that I strongly felt it was 'Ilse' rather than 'Jlse' but this was the 1st time I'd seen it written this way.

Yup, they are all different poses (all headshots in a vintage style ) & they are some of my rarest! :D

Going back to my schooldays, a cursive ittalic script such as copperplate starts a capital I as a J in handwriting, although not in type. Quite possible the person who typed it read from a handwritten note. Just a thought.
