To make a picture perfect set-up of Connery in his famous FRWL photo still, the devil is in the details. I have a manequin torso made out of styrofoam; at first I was upset not realizing it would be styrofoam when I ordered it online, but it works out since I will have to alter it significantly to best approximate Connery's physique. I've picked up a few used tuxedo jackets and shirts online and at thrift stores but feel that I have to find more or have a tailor make one with the requisite satin shawl cuffs and lapels. The hand is another problem, since it figures so prominently in that pose. I bought a rubbery vinyl hand from Dorfman's Museum Displays and it doesn't come near the size or appearance of the large, muscular paws that Connery seems to have in the FRWL publicity stills even though the illusion of size is partly due to the camera's perspective. I've considered molding my own hand, though bigger than the Dorfman hands, but not big enough. Options I have left: (1) I do have a larger than normal mannequin hand, but I'll need to modify it extensively, including the addition of a more realistic skin texture. (2) I'm actually considering putting an ad on Craigslist or offering people I meet a gig to mold their right hand; I've actually run into some guys fitting the bill, but I felt funny to actually ask them. (one of them was a guy stopped in front of a railroad crossing who backed up into my car, and I was really upset at the time).
Woa nelly, they look great just as they are particularly in that lighting. Just like classic sculpture.

Why thank you, or rather thank you for Howard S. He's the real big dog!
