Here at last, 'Maggie' the Thunderball rebreather.

Hi guys,
I was looking at one of my props in my collection the other day, and noticed something wasn't quite right. Then another thing, then one thing lead to another, in went the DVD and before I knew it, this prop I was holding didn't actually look anything like the thing I was gawping at on the tv.
Christ I thought, to the drawing board! A few hours of elbow grease later, and Maggie was born....
Admittedly, this is just a mock up. I don't normally show 'work in progress' on here, but I thought with having another project on the bench, it'd be best to show this off now instead of shelving it until after christmas.
Hopefully I've got it screen accurate, and the hours of peering at paused scenes of TB have paid off.
Enjoy guys -{

Hmm
not to go off topic, but LINDENWOLD?! Hello from Deptford!
DG, a piece of alloy? how dare you talk of my baby as a 'piece of alloy' :v
technically speaking though, you'd be right as brass is an alloy lol.
anyhow, i recall making parts for 'maggie' and having to drill a small hole, the part grabbed on the drill bit, the hole went oversize and an hour's machining time was turned into scrap metal in about half a second.
its not easy to do this kinda stuff, and tbh half of the effort is gaining the right info. but when ya get nice comments from all over the world from such a nice bunch of fans, it makes all the time and effort well worth it.
the next stage will see maggie go through the painting and finishing stage, and of course, she'll need a crib.......
i'll keep you guys posted.

It was just the spanner wrench used to open the back of a Rolex (Just kidding)

They are all case back openers. The one Ed mentioned is the spanner type specific to Rolex that has different fittings or chucks shown along the bottom that fit the serations on the back of the various Rolex watch case backs. The Rolex type also exists in a bench type where the watch head is held stationary and the correct chuck is lowered to the caseback and then twisted off.
The other one that looks like a stick is a presure type. The rubber tip has a hole in it and you press it into the back of the caseback and twist to open. The third type I've seen before, but I'm not exactly sure how it works. I think those two protrusions fit into the caseback slots of certain types of watches and you twist off. I think the center silver part is to open and close the protrusions (make wider or narrower).
Good eye Ed, because the Rolex spanner type does sort of resembe the re-breather.
