Omega Newbie Questions / Advice

I have been offered a good deal on a 22208000 Seamaster Pro.

I have a few questions that I would be gratefu if some kind soul could answer

1) I am after the Casino Royale Seamaster and I believe the model above is correct?
2) Quartz V Co-Axial - is it worth it to pay extra for the Co-Axial version?
3) Warranty, as im new to watches what is the score with warranty with Omega watches, the one im looking at is 4 years old so I guess expired.
4) How long should it last, lifetime if cared for?
5) How reglar should it be serviced
6) The one ive been offered is a Seamaster Pro 22208000 Co-axial model for just over one thousand pounds with all the paperwork etc. Is this a good price? Not too many on eBay for this specific model

many thanks

Hi, be very careful if you are purchasing on ebay. First off there are alot of fakes circulating which include warranty cards, boxes the works. I've been caught twice on ebay on Omegas and am £2k out of pocket. It is unlikely ebay will be interested?

First off ensure that the watch ID number on the warranty card matches the micro engraved number on the rear of the watch casing which may look like a deep scratch. If its genuine the serial number will be there. £1k is not a bad price for a Casino Royale edition Seamaster however if it is the gun barrel design then it is the one which is heavily replicated & they are getting better. Online it really is buyer beware, insist on plenty of checkable paperwork. The exact model number for the gun barrel Casino Royale Seamaster is: 2226.80.00. The back casing should feature the 007 logo not the 40th Anniversary logo. Anything not covered send me a PM.

I'm not an expert in currency conversion but it seems a little pricy for a 4 year old SMP.
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.

Yeah I am not sure about price, going on eBay prices for the exact model it is about right, however of course eBay is overinflated e.g. there is one on there now for £1200.

The older ones are cheaper but I wanted one from the CR era and not the 007 logo "limited edition" type that Craig did not wear

I got mine at watchfinder.co.uk - you pay a bit more but they're 100% what they say they are and for me it's worth the extra bit of money for the piece of mind. I'm a firm believer that you pay for what you get.

Apologies - the pre-owned one above is actually the 36mm mid-size version not the 42mm normal version. However, if you have a good search on Google you will find plenty of places selling decent used SMPs
