personally guys, if you want to have the logo on your gg, i'd recommend that you have a sticker like kan's. its by far the easiest and most effective way of putting the cherry on the cake as it were.
top mark's mr kan, certainly something special with this one -{
I personally think that sticker cheapens the replica, the Colibri barely stands out on the Screen lighter/gun, but your sticker makes it look even more like a toy than a replica prop, maybe if you did the colibri as a clear out line and not solid black. No offense but just my opinion. Anyway didn't FE say that it could be ingraved no problem, they just didn't do it with the company gone into liquidation.
Of course, you are entitled to your opinion - I respect that.
This is just my version that I do for myself mainly - since I have some extra pieces, I decided to share with the rest of the forum members at a fraction of the cost that I have already paid. I thought that is good thing.
I know that not everyone would share my opinion or like my design. But like I said this is my project and its for me. Its my money I am burning and its ok. -{

Factory Entertainment, They have gone into Liquidation ????? That True ?????
So is the rights to the props up for ''grabs'' then :v :v ) )
I think Kan's sticker is a very neat little extra.... SD guns had a sticker and it
was all good, I think Kan has done a nice job :007)
I can also see NICKO FAN's point, that it makes it more of a toy.. But the truth
is these things are toys .. toys for big boys..... we are all big kids who collect
toys and its great
Why Didn't Factory Entertainment, Just get the guns engraved before Gold
Coating / Plating ????? surely it should have been in the design at the start
Maybe it was a Copyright issue with ''Colibri'' Surely if their logo was to be
used, They would have to be informed of its use on the replica,
Even if the Colibri was on the original film guns, and this was a replica of
that, Its still re-using their logo and brand in some form
I think this is a more realistic explanation, than FE saying ok, we went to
the trouble of making a full replica, produced this part and that part, But
we will skip the engraving because were going into liquidation that
sounds a bit strange, I mean if you were having that prop produced it
wouldn't have cost much more in terms of mass production to have
machines incorporate it, into its manufacture
Just a thought ....
Anyway .. whos the next Company making the 3rd Golden Gun ???? :v
we have had SD... then FE... whos the next ''official'' replica going to come from :007)
ok we Did have Master Replicas... But they rever released that replica they made
Does anyone know what happened to that, How many Prototypes did they have
touring at Toy Fairs and Comic Cons ???
Factory Entertainment, They have gone into Liquidation ????? That True ?????
Mick, don't joke about things like that, they'll be lynch mob heading for Scotland quicker than you can say "I'm going to make my own Golden Gun"
He was obviously referring to Colibri being in liquidation. In fact your whole post is based on on this misunderstanding on your part. Worryingly it could be taken seriously by others.
Gadget Meister... I didn't miss understand what he meant, I knew he was reffering to Colibri .. and that was my joke.. I would have thought all the silly laughing and grins would have given it away... No Matter
I will post a disclaimer so there is no problems at a later date
FOR LEGAL REASONS I AM OBLIGATED TO SAY: FACTORY ENTERTAINMENT ARE ALIVE AND WELL! AND STILL IN BUSINESS, No Reputations Or PROP PRODUCERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS COMMENT
''I have made my own Golden Gun'' just looked outa the window, Dont see any Mob at all the streets are very quiet almost like 28 days later is it a calm before the storm ?
Minigeff it would have to be ''MIC'' on the bullet, Dont think anyone could manage to scribe ''TOSSER'' onto the tip of one of those Golden bullets ) )
Well Even better if Colibri are gone even more reason to use their logo if they aint around to fight for the right to use it :v
joking aside .... I think a deal could have been done, to use the Colibri Logo in the manufacture ... Surely the Bond rights cover it? as its a copy of somthing they have the rights to the ''Golden Gun'' ... and how it looked in the film, Surely the argument could be put forward that to be true to the prop, the engraved logo would be included to match the film prop which EON have the rights to Not Colibri ....
Funny How Colibri never made a single gun in the film .. and they just paid for their name to appear in the credits
sadly mick, the licencing aint as easy as one licence covers all you see.
if FE wanted to make a model of the db5, they'd need aston martin's permission, this rule goes for the colibri logo, some kind of permission would need to be granted. easiest option for FE would be to simply omit it from their product, thus bypassing all the legal hassles.
I would like to say, its not good to see any company going out of business
And looking back at my stupid humour, I can see how it could be taken
several ways, NO harm or offence was intended at all
So I do appologise.
I have been explained, that stupid rumours can somtimes lead to a company
going into liquidation, ie i rumour or a stupid joke put across the wrong way,
can lead to a business ending up in trouble at a later date ... as some small
comment can end up spreading as fact, which leads to suppliers and clients
alike loosing faith in a brand / company
so for that i do appologise how my previous posts may have sounded ....
Manigeff thanks for the simple and factual explanation .. cheers
The stickers should now be delivered - to those in US anyway.
This is how I would install it ...
Cut the sticker to the proper size (3 edges) - leaving one edge longer - this is where you peel the sticker off and handle the piece - you will only leave prints here. Now use some kind of a masking tape to partially covers the sticker (stick to the front of the Colibri sticker) and use this masking tape for handling and positioning. With this new "handle", trim off the long end of the Colibri sticker - where you do the peeling and the initial handling. Now the sticker is ready for installtion. After the paste down remove the masking tape - viola!
Kan
What exactly is your point? Can you please clarify?
I for one love to see the Golden Guns - SDs, FE etc. People have posted pictures of their collection in the past on this forum to show what they got - most are not one of a kind or unique - but still I love to see it. It is a collector's piece in another collector's collection that is what make it special.
Clearly you do not like this thread - then please stop reading it. I did not mean to offend anybody here.
What is your problem NF? Kan has gone to the trouble to get these stickers made for us GG freaks, you either choose to buy or not. we understand your first point and if you don't like it move along, if you continue to make comments the way you are, you will only alienate your self against others, if that is your wish so be it
Got my sticker today! Was very careful in trimming it to size and sticking it on as I didn't want fingerprints on it. Was very happy with the final result.
It makes a world of difference to the gun; it's such a simple thing but it's very effective.
One other thing I did to my GG - as you can see in the last pic - was to cut a circle from a floppy disc label and colour it black with a marker. I stuck it inside the barrel to hide the red plug. I didn't want to risk damaging the plating by trying to remove the plug so I left it in.
Comments
for those who will be getting their stickers soon - you know who you are :v - please post pics of your enhanced GGs -{
