Your dream Bond film?

Thought this might be a fun topic. What would your "ideal" vision of a Bond film be like? Which actors would be in it (living or dead)?

I'll start, mine would have Pierce as Bond (controversial choice I know but he's always been a favourite since growing up) and (perhaps) Anthony Hopkins as as the main villain with Robert Shaw as his henchman (I know it would be hard to beat the Grant/Bond battle in FRWL though) :D

Maybe Pierce could thwart him in a much dirtier way like Bond does in the book.

I am going to use actors from various time periods so you will have to imagine them during their prime years.

I would use Pierce as Bond, in my mind, his appearance is closest to how Fleming described Bond and I always liked his take on Bond For the good Bond girl, I would cast Jennifer Connelly, attractive, great actress and I think her and Brosnan would make a good looking couple. For the bad Bond girl, I am bringing back Luciana Paluzzi, best bad Bond girl ever. For the Bond girl that gets killed off, I would cast Shirley Eaton, for pure sexuality, I thought she provided more with minimal screen time than any other actress in Bond film history. Maureen O’Hara would play Moneypenny. M would be played by Bernard Lee.

For the bad guy, I would cast Daniel Day Lewis, an actor that can exude evil, Streets of New York and There Will Be Blood are two examples where his darker side were revealed. For his henchman I would select two, Peter Lorre as the crazy guy and Robert Shaw as the tough guy.

John Barry would provide the score, the film locations would include, London, Jamaica, and Istanbul. Set design by Ken Adams and direction by Terence Young. Shirley Bassey would sing the title song. Classic Aston Martin DB 5 would get plenty of screen time and I would get a cameo.

    great topic!

My bond would be Timothy Dalton- he always deserved another.
The villain would be Herbert Lom who I thought played brilliantly in the pink panther series. He would be a psychotic type- world domination type.
Henchman- Mickey Rourke as a Red Grant cross jaws type
Place- London, Scotland and another European country like France or Italy or Russia
Scene- if there was a fight scene on a windmill or something that would be cool
Also Bond has an Aston martin Vantage

As well as my dream Bond film I have always wished that somehow there could have been at least 5 more films than there are. I would have liked Dalton to have had films in 1991 and 1993. Also I would have liked Pierce to have had one more movie. Also, and this is harder to sneak into the timeline, but also that Lazenby had 2 more new films and was in Diamonds are Forever as a hard revenge movie. All of this but keep everything else the same. Not much to ask eh?

On top of that I'll add my dream ingredients for Bond 23 -

Daniel Craig as Bond, Keeley Hawes as Moneypenny, the return of Q, to be honest I liked John Cleese, but if they go for a new actor it would have to be someone older than Bond but good for a long stint. I'm stuck for a name at the moment, but I'm sure one will come to me.

Lots of Bond-ness. By that I mean plenty of spying, womanising and style. I've always been far more interested in that side of the films than everything blowing up.

That said, I'd love Bond 23 to be a biggie, not way over the top, but just the right side of massive like The Spy Who Loved me, it's time for some fun.

The Villain I'd like to see would be along the lines of Geoffrey Rush or Terrance Stamp. A bloody good actor with real menace. Also an intelligent henchman, a proper physical threat to Bond with a mind of his own.

Aside from that, just make it a good story. I'm one of those fans that loved Quantum of Solace, I can see it's flaws, but I really enjoy it.

Completely agree about DAF, it should have been Lazenby and Savalas. The movie could have been epic, but instead we a got a ridiculous joke of a movie with a tired old looking Connery.

I definitely think they should bring back Q, but have him interact with Bond differently. No more of the annoying bickering between Bond and Q, please.

I always felt that the scenes with Pierce and Q were a bit forced. Aside from Desmonds final scene in TWINE , which is so unbelievably poignant

Any banter along the lines Q had with Connery or Moore is good for me.

I wish that there was a trilogy of films based off of Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and You Only Live Twice that modernized the books, but still followed them closely.
Don't rush. We have all the time in the world.
