Let Bond Be Your Guide. . .for Valentine's Day?

When I logged into my computer, I found the article "6 Mistakes Men Makes on Valentine's Day" on my home page. Not wanting to make any mistakes with the Hardygirl, I read away, and the last item was particularly interesting:

"Mistake #6: Under-dressing

"Don't wear jeans. No matter how well they fit, denims are not invited to your romantic evening for two.

"Why it's bad: It suggests the day isn't as important to you as it it may be to her. Plus, getting a little dressed up adds an element of excitement that breaks the casual routine you may share on a standard date night. And excitement boosts oxytocin, the bonding hormone released during new, exciting activities that brings couples together.

"The fix: Whether you're staying in or partying like a rock star, let Daniel Craig, aka James Bond, be your style muse, says men's fashion site Dappered. For a night in, try casual khakis and a crisp white shirt, like Craig wore during a scene in an Italian villa in 'Quantum of Solace.' For a red carpet look, try a skinny tie, or a slim-lined gray suit, like Craig has donned at premieres."

So how 'bout that? Fifty years on, and the cinematic Bond is still showing us guys how to win a lady's heart! And if you want to read the whole article, you can find it here:

Most of us guys need all the help we can get. . .

Can't go wrong with a suit. Just CANNOT. And if you don't want to wear a suit, a pair of NICE, tailored black trousers (pants for Americans) and an oxford shirt (white or light blue) will definitely do. Ahem, if you're not wearing a tie with the oxford shirt, it obviously MUST be button-down (as in button-down collar). If you ask me, the ideal is black trousers and an equally well-tailored white shirt. No tie needed. Needless to say the shoes need to be elegant. That's dressing up without wearing a suit and while staying comfortable. And, not for Valentine's Day but in general. I couldn't care less since I have had much more important things to celebrate on Feb. 14 than Valentine's Day... for all my life :D

FYI, I actually did let Bond be my guide for V-Day, though not in clothing style. I gave the Hardygirl an Afghan love-knot necklace, and she loves it. . .even though Bond ain't her thing.

Happy birthday ale....apols for delay but have been in the air for 30 of the last 72hrs...

Of course many guys on here would love to have a girl whose birthday is also vals day..

Two dates for the price of one card and a whole industry set up to remind them weeks ahead would definitely appeal to the econo-misers! :v
