Had a huge falling out with family (in laws) about this one. Had no idea there was a museum there, but passed within yards of it on the way to lunch. What with kids, wife and in-laws all stressed and harrassed at finding somewhere for lunch, being on schedule to visit family and make it somewhere else in the afternoon I totally dipped out and couldn't see the museum. I too live very far south and won't be up there again for years, if ever, as it's not somewhere we tend to go or pass through more than once a decade! :#

s'ok guys, fear not cos i've heard the place is shyt.

tbh, i've heard mixed reports, but i've heard more bad than good.

i've heard the batmobiles and the deloreans for instance are replicas, not real film cars and i've heard that several of the cars are like this.

I, too, have heard good and bad things.
But I have been there and the museum is interesting, especially for us Bond nuts.
If you are well into the Bond cars, then the museum is definitely worth a visit.

Bondpropfan, I have already been, went to the opening in April 2009 and again last year. The better pictures I took on the opening weekend are to be found here:

Don't know how, but I appear to have mislaid last years, I think they're on my old pc awaiting editing.

Minigeff, some of the vehicles are replicas, and they don't deny the fact, but by far the most are originals.

Of course there are two museums there to visit, Cars of The Stars: http://www.carsofthestars.com/

    and The Bond Museum: http://thebondmuseum.com/index.htm

They were in the news this morning as he's selling off a few of the 'replicas', most notably the Starskey & Hutch Gran Tourino.

I've not yet been, but when I'm in the area, I wont hesitate to drop in. Mick here (scaramangasgoldengun) has donated some props to the owner. What a helpful chap.

Well Peter made a very nice and very generous contribution to My Friend Nicola's MS charity Fund raising last year, as she has to go to the states for a life changing Operation, I was due to auction off online, a few Bond items to raise money for her charity, However Peter Nelson made a very kind offer on the items and we accepted, I have not been to the Bond museum yet ... however I am planning on getting down to see it this year as I am going on a run to the lake district with my, Mazda owners club, so will have to stop by, some of the guys in the club are avid Bond fans, not to the geeky degree like myself :)) but they do like the Bond cars... so will make a good stop on the trip for sure :)

I have been in the cars of the stars' museum when I was younger, and it was pretty good from what I remember, But as a big Bond Fan, I am looking forward to seeing the new place.

I'm new in here , but thought I'd add something you may find interesting :-)
My wife and I actually went to the ''Bond Museum'' on the way back from Scotland last year as I'd been wanting to visit since it opened . The museum itself , and the ''cars of the stars'' museum are two completely different things .
The ''Bond Museum'' is set in a rather grim business/trading estate but is WELL worth a visit !!! I could feel my pulse racing as soon as I entered the place. We were the first people to arrive ( as any Bond fan can appreciate) and within an hour , the place was packed . It is literally a dream come true .
