  I think so. None of the Bonds were really big movie stars prior to being Bond and I've always been of the impression that that was done on purpose. I know that Roger Moore was very well known in the UK as The Saint and Pearce Brosnan was well known as Remington Steele, but both were TV series. not movies. Cavill will likely now be synonimous with Superman, I doubt that EON would go for him.

  Thing is, even if Supey stinks it will tarnish Cavill, and if it doesn't well, he's Superman.
  
  You sort of have to do the math also, in terms of the crossover in time. Supey comes out next year, Craig maybe has one more to go. Will Supey go to three films? It may do, though imo Superman movies don't go the distance once you get over the coming-of-age bit of it, the dynamic is lost (same thing may apply to Craig's Bond imo)

  NP I agree with you. Plus there is also the question of if Cavill would even want to play the character!
  
  I say that because look at the furor when everyone thought it would be Clive Owen? He is an actor of caliber, he's starred in films with wide distrubution, and is regarded on the stage as well. - But he didn't become Bond.
  
  I can't judge Cavill as an actor (I have only seen one ep of The Tudors thus far) but his star seems to already be on the up on the silver screen. Irronically, - that will work against him as Bond.
  
  What do I know? - I was not impressed wehn Mr Craig was announced wearing that life jacket - and to me he gave Connery a run for his money in CR! (QoS excepted / erased) More please!!
