GRAPPLE GUN - GOLDFINGER & other PROPS

I don't post often to this site but thought other Bond fans and collectors might be interested in viewing my Goldfinger Grapple gun replica. The Grapple is used briefly in the Goldfinger opening sequence as Bond emerges from a dock and uses it to scale a wall and into the oil tank farm. The original screen used prop was sold at a Christies' auction in 1998. By this time, some 34 years after Goldfinger came out, the Grapple appears to have been reassembled with its major components, the top and bottom tube, in different configurations. Some parts are missing from the Grapple sold at auction. Researching the correct base gun, and reel, I used the Christies single small photo, and blu-ray screen shots to draw-up scale plans from which the parts were eventually machined. I began this research years ago. I also hand made the case to resemble what I thought Q would have presented it to Bond in, less the name plate. My replica is not functional, but the Grapple does pop open when extracted from the barrel. Following are screen shots and prop photos. At the end is a side-by-side of the actual sold at Christies compared to my replica, which is in the screen used configuration. I've also included some other props. If I can't fit them here, I will add a second post. Sincerely, George

Props!
That's absolutely fantastic, all of it! However the Goldfinger grappling gun is just to die for. I heard you were working on it with help from our talented friend overseas. That Gyrojet is also "da bomb" too. You lucky devil. You've got some real talent buddy. Great work!

David Z, Joe Darlington, George and I got together this past Saturday and had a "Fan Boy Show & Tell" with all our "Toys"
While I knew what to expect...it was quite the other thing to see, hold, and in my case, DROOL over his props.
George and I have collaborated on several various prop replica projects some of which you see the results here and my only "problem" with George is that makes me look bad as he turns out some AMAZING pieces!!!!! LOL!!!
Good things we're friends or I'd have to KILL him !!! :-)
Seriously, I know we all look forward to the next round of props from the collection of George!
EXCELLENT work...as always

I have never seen so many props and guns in one places before,
there was more fire power ( if they worked, which they don't ) in
that room, than in the Gun store raid scene in ''Commando'' By Big Arnie ) )

Your collection is absolutely FANTASTIC. Unbelievable. You have been hiding too long from this forum - show us more when you have time. -{

p/s I have a few pics for you to channel your inner Q
David, you are a lucky guy to have fellow prop builders living near you.
There are also a few custom pieces such as the “Predator” M-134 Mini-gun, the prototype “Aliens” M41-A Pulse rifle as well as one of the 12 production versions made by SD Studios.
There are quite a number of other Movie prop guns mixed in…how many can you spot?

I don't think you would like to live in Canada. God this feels like our entire army...
You keep the Bond stuff separate? You mean this is only the "low grade" stuff - the "high-tech" is even better!
I was IMPRESSED BEFORE - now, I am FLOORED. LOL
Arnold, Sylvester, Mel and Bruce...watch out.......Ed's arsenal is TOPS
