Yes i do. Ive ridden for many years. Had my own horse. Competed in medieval fullcontact jousting for 5 years.
Now I ride spanish stallions from Andalusia.

That's so off the wall! Jousting! Must be fantastic, painful coming off though...

I rode from 2 to about 25. I owned horses until I was 18, then messed about on my parent's horses for a while. I rode in many events such as cross-country, show-jumping and huntertrails. More controversially I used to go fox hunting and had loads of scary and exhilerating chases, but I kind of only went because it was part of my family life. I'm not stoically anti-hunt now, but have no desire to support it or see it continue. I now live back in the countryside now and own some land, so back are the desires to own a horse again, but with two young kids and both myself and wife owning respective businesses, I just can't see myself having the time horses take up.

I'd love to see Bond on a horse in Bond 23. He hasn't been on one since Octopussy (or NSNA) and a chase would be good!

I'm not an amazing rider, but my cousins have horses, and I ride (English...how I hate the non-pommeled saddles...) every time I'm out there...spent a lot of my life aroud horses. My "grandfather" also has horses, but his are cart horses (Percherons, specifically), and I'm slowly learning to drive them. I also worked at a summer camp for many of my teen years, and was a wrangler there, so I rode pretty much all day every day, Western Style, and taught little kids to ride and do up the saddles and such.

I bought a western saddle and rode for a while with it. I liked the casual, loose style and it was great for long distance rides on the moor. Unfortuanately, like American cars, what looks good in the states looks a bit daft over here and I got more that a few sneering looks.

they're comfier for sure. I always have saddle butt after riding in an English saddle, and hardly ever after a Western.

I've been riding on and off since I was in my early teens.

When my Father was posted to Amman, in Jordan, he was the Military Attaché, and so had doors open in many places, one of which was the Royal Stables belonging to King Hussein - my mum and I were very lucky and were invited to ride there regularly, my mum was happy to ride the thoroughbreds, while I rode mostly polo ponies - Christ they are touchy..... but great fun

)

We used to take the horses out for a long stretch with the Princesses, and one of our games was to lose the body guards..... hilarious at the time, but once it landed us in real trouble....

Haven't ridden in years.... but one day. Still got the kit

It's fun to see that people here (some people?) enjoy other things than James Bond posters! I was asking because I rode only a few times but I am kind of hooked on it. All I can think of is getting tea cups with horses on them and riding horses.

Anyway, I wanted to thank a friend who took me horse riding on her beautiful horse and I wanted to make her a gift - something Hermès for her horse (obviously NOT a saddle). It's also her birthday.

I was wondering if someone knew what I could buy for her horse that would not have problems to fit : reins? bridles? halter? leads?

Apart from a leading rein/rope and detachable reins most things depend on the size of the horse, and with saddles the size of the horse and rider. A grooming kit could be favourable ie brushes and tail/mane combs etc. Failing that some nice leather riding boots and a springy riding crop... :v

So it's not really possible to buy a halter or a saddle pad?

a Saddle Pad might be easier to buy, but as always, you gotta know how big the horse is, and how big the saddle that is used with that horse is. A halter is a bit of a personal thing for the rider.

This is a book you definitely want to check out. Perhaps the most beautiful pictures of horses ever taken.
