ok, so these are suitable solutions, but in my mind there shouldn't be any kind of problems like this in the first place. its a mass manufactured piece, where quality control and details should be checked all the way through the production process. this isn't a fan made item where people notice bits and pieces that should and can be fixed, it should be right first time, straight out the box.

    Fully agreed with MG.

Same goes with shipping schedule etc.

Totally agree with both Teppo and minigeff.

Just a note on "Quality control". I buy a lot of models from Hong Kong. They are a set of coaches. Never had any problems until a couple of years ago (and that was a total one off never happened before or again). There were two ways to fix the coach to the base the right way and the wrong way whereby if you tried to put the perspex cover on it would not go on "Without forcing It". Guess what way they put the cover on the wrong way and they had to be forced over the coach as it was overhanging the base and consequently broke both cover and coach. A very simple process done without due care and attention. And it came with a Quality Checked Certificate!

    Amen.

I also have the tarot cards and teeth and they are great and cheap compared to the gun! Sigh.... I just don't want it to turn into an issue that everytime I look at the darn thing I get upset. If the replacement parts start to drag out and take too long to replace I might just ask for a full refund and move on. :(

Me too....I emailed a wek after they got the replacement parts asking if they have shipped out the replacements yet and all I hear are crickets chirping.

Gonna give them another few days and then contact the credit card company. This is stupid.

Gentle folk of this forum. I have just been on the telephone to the London office and spoke to a guy called Richard and explained my problem . I was offered without asking this email address, jordan@factoryent.com - He is the guy in overall charge.
Going now to email him to see what happens next!
And very sorry to say this but after this and whilst I wish Factory Entertainment all the best it is R.I.P from me.

Hi, Just got a reply from Jordan at Factory Entertainment. Who when I sent him proof of the non replies etc. despite being Delivered / Opened / Read etc. (as my email system can track the email progress). Cannot see why there have been no replies or updates! He has appologised for this and is going to take it up with Tom and Barry. Part being sent out! (I hope!)

UPDATE - Just recieved a reply from Tom, (For Legal Reasons I cannot Post the Reply on Here).

What it basically says is that he is replying to ALL Emails. But it is their External IT Department (they use a differant company for their IT Services) as to where the fault lies and the majority of customers are involved!

Also the part was sent out some 4 weeks ago by FedEx and he is has the Tracking Number again he sent me an email but alas I did Not Recieve It. They now have a claim in against FedEx.

Update 2 - Just recieved an email from Tom with despatch advice and tracking number that the Part has been sent today Priority Mail. Hopefully Next Week for Delivery.

    Everyone,

We have discovered that some people have not been receiving email responses from us. Particularly UK based ISP's. These emails include replies to inquiries on QA and emails with tracking numbers etc (typically any e-mail with a link in the content area). Just to note, this was not an issue with ALL e-mail addresses, just a few domains. This was an issue with our email provider and has since been corrected.

If you have contacted us and have not received a response within a few (working) days this is not acceptable and something is wrong. Likewise if you are waiting for parts or replacements and are waiting more than a few weeks for them to ship (all replacements are shipped from our US office so can take a little while to reach international destinations) please get back in touch with us via phone or e-mail directly and we'll assist you as soon as possible. Either tom@factoryent.com or barry@factoryent.com

All replacements are shipped in a timely manner, but only when available and there is a only a very limited quantity. Sometimes there may be a short delay if we have to obtain them from the factory, but we always advise via email if this is the case.

To date (based on the number of guns supplied) we have only had a very small number of complaints regarding QA issues. Sadly on a manufactured product there will always be some problems. It's a just a fact of the manufacturing process for any item. However, reading this forum it would give you the impression that there were far more problems than are being reported to us. It would also seem that some people may have problems that they don't inform us of.

If you received an item that is not to your standard, we apologize for the inconvenience and we will do everything we can to make sure that you are satisfied. But, we must stress that this is not a "typical" experience for the majority of customers who have ordered and received our products either through our store or through a retailer. It's a rare and unfortunate occurrence that is painful for everyone involved, but we will do everything that we can to make sure your experience with our company is a better one and fix the problem.

We appreciate the patience and feedback from everyone here. Once again, we check the forum periodically and reply when we can, but the best way to get in contact with us is directly via e-mail (tom@factoryent.com or barry@factoryent.com) or phone (+1 925-270-3739).

@megamicrofish - please resend your e-mail. It is often impossible for us to identify our customers via their AJB Id's so we cannot comment on your post here.

Got an email from Tom, who said the "replacement for the replacement" would be resent on Friday (got Tracking Number on Friday so it was) as the original was sent some 4 weeks ago via FedEx. and has not arrived and cannot be traced via its tracking number.

Good for you! At least I know they are still alive and kicking....I have emailed Tom and Barry and it's falling on deaf ears. :(

I ordered this thing almost 2 months ago, took a while to get it and had to send back my bad parts a few days after I got it and now I am sitting here looking at a glass case, stand, bullet, barrel and cufflinks.

Got the replacement part Today. Should have been yesterday but was away for the day.
Still not happy about the dents etc in the inner packaging but everyone seems to the same? FE seem reluctant to do anything?

Well, I got my replacement parts today, new perspex case is fine, as are the bullets BUT the replacement cigarette case has the hole on the lid in the wrong place aaarrrggggg !

    photo.jpg

It would be simple if I could get the tops off and swap them round (i managed to get one off but the other is glued on tight)

If I wasn't so P*ss*d off it would be funny (and no, this is not an early April fools gag)

Quite simply what can we say? This is frankly unforgivable and we have failed. Please accept our sincere apologies. Megamicrofish please check your private email for a message from us that we hope will go some way to address this issue.

We are not a huge corporate monstrosity, we are a small company run by fans and when we see things like this trust me, and it makes us just as angry and upset. This is a stupid pointless mistake that should not have happened. In truth we cannot even give you an explanation or a reason as to how it happened.

When we send out replacement parts they are carefully checked to make sure they are up to the standard we were aiming for on the Golden Guns. Sadly a less than perfect gold plate finish has affected some guns. We have made no secret of that it’s a small number, but it’s frustrating none the less. We paid a considerable sum of money for QA (quality assurance checks) to be carried out on the guns at the factory as they were manufactured. Sadly it’s clear that some guns were simply allowed to pass when they should not have done. Rest assured we have done everything short of send a Rosa Klebb-alike over to put stiletto tipped shoes in unmentionable places of those responsible, and we will not be using them again.

But unfortunately the only way we learn about these problems is when the consumer opens their gun and reports them. Again we should point out that of the 1400 Golden Guns made only a very small amount, no more than the expected norm, appear to have these quality issues. In fact the QA returns on the golden gun have been considerably less than we have encountered on similar products in the past. However if you have a gun you are less than happy with that is of no comfort to you. Do we wish we could get 100% efficiency out of factories… every minute of every day we do, along with every other manufacturer or every consumer product on earth. So if we do encounter a problem we do our best to remedy it.

Then things like this happen to poor Megamicrofish. All the golden gun parts are hand made but the parts are cast and milled together at the same time. This problem is not simply a hole drilled in the wrong place or a lid put on backwards. The entire lid of this case has been incorrectly manufactured. We paid a very large sum of money in tooling to create the golden gun and things made using the same tool should be identical. The lid is of a shape and design that it cannot be put on backwards. Rest assured we will be asking our factory to explain how this could happen where an effectively unique and incorrect piece has been produced?

We have no excuse, but when we checked the replacement before we sent it to Megamicroflish we would not for one minute have dreamed of checking to ensure the hole in the top was correct as all the parts are supposed to identical and its not something that should fluctuate. Cleary from now on we will be more careful.

We are ashamed that this can happen. Getting a substandard gun is bad enough, then getting a faulty replacement part. I despair!

    My sincere apologies

    Barry

Sadly...I do not own a SE Golden Gun anymore.

It's a long story and in the end the guys at FE took care of me, but in the end I'm still bummed cause I am out a gun. I had saved all that cash for it and now I will go blow it on something really stupid. ;)

Oh well....good news is they said to be sure to check out the other Bond items that they have coming up....

What could it be? Wagers anyone?

    Update
I have finally received my second replacement cigarette case and it is perfect, in fact it fits better than the original one I had.
So it took a while to get there but I am now happy with the GG

I now have 2 spare cases which may be of some use to some people (one is perfect but lid has hole in wrong place and the other has less than perfect plating to one side)
I am open to offers and trades :)

Talk about quality control :#. The problems I noticed were these:
-Package was damaged, the one from Factory Entertainment
-Display case had minor scratches and it's not as sturdy as I hoped (we're far away from the quality that Master Replicas had for instance)
-The plaque section in the base is too tight, the edges on the right side weren't smooth enough to place the plaque easily. Trying to correct the plaque position can damage it. I really favor the separate plaque stand and not one with base. Be careful! Jaws Teeth had it right, no problems. Good job on that one.
-The plaque itself it very bendable and needs extra caution. Don't rush on anything...
-The gun itself has lots of quality control issues, mainly to the cigarette lighter and case. I'm very precise with the quality and it's far from perfect.
-Constructing the gun may seem easy from the FE video, but it's not. It's extremely fragile and harder than it looks. My cigarette lighter made me crazy as it was jammed a bit. It didn't slide as in the video. I was like "why on earth doesn't this fit and after some fighting, it moved an inch forward and was placed nicely. With a greasy and sweaty hands you can once again ruin a lot. I recommend using gloves big time. The golden surface will suck every dirt and grease on it.
-Placing the pen is the easiest part, but the cuff link! Oh my God :s. Once again you have a chance to ruin it. It is supposed to go straight to the hole into the cigarette lighter. Check with a flashlight or if you can see with bare eyes that it's lined up correctly.
-If you survive constructing the gun, the leave it that way, don't take it apart, like ever again! :D. I can only quess how many guns are already ruined by seeing some user videos and such. I know it's no science to construct the gun, but it can be when the pieces won't fit, holes in wrong places, jamming lighters and all this with a fragile pieces.
-It's a nerve wracking gun by FE, but still, I'm keeping it. It's a great looking display piece and something that I value. If I'd own the SD gun I wouldn't replace it with FE.
