LALD Buzz saw watch

LALD buzz saw watch. Been working on this for a fair while as some of you know. Features a working watch, pop up mechanism and of course a motorised bezel. This is still a work in progress. As it stands I had to thicken the case up a bit so its now 15.5mm thick, as opposed to the 13mm it started out. Im hoping to be able to reduce that a little, or at least give the perception its a bit thinner. Pics below and a vid of it here

    To be honest I find it quite amazing you got it all inside the watch and have it keeping time -{ it has to be a first mate.

    Jamster, nice work! I particularly like the fact that it appears to tell time and the bezel raises like one of the screen used props.

    Well, I certainly would not want somebody to hack up a perfectly good 5513 to make a buzz saw watch. Only a nut job or a production company would do that. But I do get your point. As for the person you mentioned, who's that?

    That's a really impressive piece of work to get everything in a spinning package - better than the original film prop!

    Congratulations!

    Thanks again. Yep it tells time. Ive left the second hand on, though its not very clear in the vid. I may remove the second hand as there wasnt one on the film prop, although I do like the fact that you can see its working. Unfortunately as ive replaced the existing movement with a quartz mechanism the second hand does not sweep, but ticks. That is an area im gonna look into in order to reduce the thickness of the watch.

    Déjà vu.....

    An AMAZING bit of engineering!!!!!

    It never ceases to amaze me that "we" ( The collected Bond comunity) can replicate these props from just a few frames that appear on the screen and often, as Jamster did, make them operational to the way we are led to believe they work.

    It's a lot harder to figure out how to make things work as they appear to as opposed to having several versions that each perform a specified function and we THINK it's the same prop.

    What we never see are all the wires, tubes, hidden parts that are a "slight of hand" by the propmakers. I'm not saying they're cheating as its a lot easier to do it that way.
    After all....it's just a movie

    Again, Jamster, truly an accomplishment on your part. Now you have to make one for each of the board members or I'll get you "kicked off" the board. :))

    GOOD JOB!!!!

    This part of the forum never ceases to amaze me. I don't collect anything, but look in now and again to see what people have - and can't believe how good some of the things you guys make really are. That watch looks fantastic, and the working golden gun recently was amazing. Keep up the good work! -{
