Locations

What parts of the world would you like to see the new movie set in? I'd like to see Eastern Europe. I don't believe a Bond film has ever taken place in Poland before.

Poland might be good - certainly a quiet and empty location as most Polish people seem to be here. :v
Australia would be good - fantastic light and scenary, great locations. Indonesia has great beaches, cliffs, volcanoes, jungle etc and is also a hotbed of political unrest, South Africa also has wonderful scenary and light. I'd like to see some snow action (although surely Craig would snowboard instead of ski? 8-) ) so somewhere like Norway could provide a good backdrop for that, maybe even a boat chase in the Ffjords...

Some place new and exotic. When I discovered Bond and strange enough I think it was a videostore girl who showed me the movies. Every film was fresh and different. There are a bunch of out of the way areas a Bond bad guy could setup shop. However, Daniel Craig's Bond wants to be grounded although today's wealthy can easily live the Bond villain lifestyle.

Have you ever seen Live and Let Die? Bond was in New York in that film.

I'd like to see Bond in the luxurious part of New York, that of the film Someone to Watch Over Me, lavish stuff. Manhattan posh.

The new novel Carte Blanche is partially set in Dubai. I do think a location should add to or reflect the overall look of the movie, the vibe.

I used to live in a place called Holywell Bay (about a hundred houses, 2 pubs and a seasonal beach shop...) I moved away to work for a year and then returned. Die Another Day was filmed there for the beach infiltration scene. I missed it completely. :#

Bond has never been in Oceania, in Australia or new Zealand, that would be interesting seeing him there

Damn right :D Even, that I'm partly Polish... Russia would be great, but I don't mean some Kazan at the end of the movie. In the new Goldeneye game the Russian part was great, so why not.

I, too, would enjoy seeing Bond in the city of my birth again. There are so many great locations to choose from!

    new agent here,
I'd like to see Bond in Scotland, nice opportunity for a Connery cameo as well as some kilt puns!
  • Napoleon PluralNapoleon Plural LondonPosts: 10,467MI6 Agent
Yeah, that's a good idea. Though Connery's retired, it would be a shame to have his last film The Extraordinary League of Gentlemen, a film he hated.

Not sure about the kilt puns.

    Welcome to the site, Flemish!

Being an unapologetic Anglophile, I would love to see Bond somewhere in Great Britain other than just London....how about Cornwall or Wales?

Somewhere in Oceania would be a great location. But it is far away from the rest of the world and they would probably just use Sydney, which has been in so many films. Its really just a horrible tourist trap.

I would definitely like some snow action, perhaps in a Scandinavian country .

As I was born in Poland and spent a lot of early years there, I have seen enough snow to last a few lifetimes. I therefore promised myself never, ever to experience any more snow. That includes fake snow on screen.

I am glad so many people mentioned Oceania, I suppose this is the only part of the world Bond has not visited. And I agree, anywhere BUT Sydney.

I could go either way on NYC, but I thought the locations in Casino Royale were top notch with a few classy ones in Connery and Moore's era. So mainly, I just want the locations to lean towards the elegance and top tier styling of the Casino Royale locations.

Now a boat chase in the ffjords! Awesome. Why hasn't that been done already?

Argentina. The country has a history of complex and stormy relations with Britain, so there's an actual reason that MI6 might have a presence there. And there are a lot of different environments: Buenos Aires, the pampas, the Antarctic, the northern interior. Felix could pop in for a bit of Monroe Doctrine drama. Obligatory tango and steer-roping scenes.

Australia would be a good pairing with Argentina. Since they hate to do just one location, they could turn it into a pan-antipodean adventure. Throw in the Galapagos for good measure.
