What if Connery played Bond until 1985?

You know that Roger Moore played Bond until he was almost 60 years old. He was 58 during AVTAK. Could you imagine what would be like if Sean Connery was still playing 007 from LALD-AVTAK, including OHMSS? Sean Connery hanging on to the mooring rope in AVTAK? Ski chase in the Swiss Alps in TSWLM? Hanging on the bars of the helicopter in FYEO?

i have actually considered this many times, but alot of people have said that roger moore simply aged alot better than sean connery. In DAF, connery looked alot older than previous movies. Also, around 85 Connery's appearence would have been older than what Bond would have looked like. In NSNA his hair is graying, and by 1989 in Indiana Jones, his appearence would have made him eligible for the Niven type Bond portrayal.

I think Connery in his elder years looks better than Moore, but Moore easily looked younger when he was Bond. Having an older, greying Sean was no real problem in NSNA but I don't think it would have been welcome on a bi-yearly basis.

I agree. I think Connery looked fine in NSNA, much more lively and viril than tired old Roger Moore. But I wouldn't have enjoyed seeing Sir Sean push it too far as Moore did in AVTAK, so I think he bowed out soon enough.
