As big a fan of Under Armour that I am, I would still prefer a breatheable cotton-based undershirt for work. The undershirts used in the Madagascar chase and Miami International Airport are different (the latter being Sunspel, I believe) are two that I do not have.
What is recommended for "on a budget" types?

These are my solution for the CR Sunspel tees on a budget. They're dirt cheap, come in a variety of colours, & are great quality, especially for the price. I've had several for about 2 years now, & they're still holding up fine with regular wear.

Target's Mossimo t shirts are fitted cuts and it cuts tighter than most shirts on my arms and is an overall flattering shirt cut. I'm not in particularly nice shape, but I can tell it is meant to be extra nice for a healthier shape and it is still good looking on me. It is my favorite cut I have ever had even compared with $35 shirts I used to use most of the time. The material isn't quite as nice as those, but it isn't obviously worse.

No Paul, not an idiot. This reminds me of a qoute that was drilled into me when I took some specialized training in Virginia. The quote is taken from a speach by Teddy Roosevelt given at the Sorbonne, Paris, France on April 23, 1910:
