High Time To Kill

How sad am I?

Just been walking in the Yorkshire Dales today and what did I see? A brand new, Lowe Alpin Attack 50 litre rucksack - selling at £59.

Why did I buy it when I have a closet full of decent rucksacks? Because it is the rucksack tat Bond uses in the book High Time To Kill.

I had to do it, really I did. Especially when I was wearing my Merrell M2 high top boots as well... just like Bond.

Anyone else this sad and pathetic?

Not sad that you bought it - I guess we're all as implusively silly on these boards.

More the fact you remembered something from Benson' awful book.

Oh I have to take issue there, High Time To Kill is Benson's best book.

Yes, it is written as if it should be a film and there's too much double crossing but it's a radical departure from the usual fare. I just loved the idea of putting Bond up a mountain.

    My opinion of course.

Of course my mountaineering equipment does, unsurprisingly, mirror Bond's choices more and more.
