Solitaire Loses Her Powers

I haven't read the novel LALD and I'm not sure if the answer is in here, but does Solitaire lose her powers from physically being touched, or losing her virginity to Bond? Before the bus chase, the cops emphasize "The girl is not to be touched." This is because Kananga doesn't want her to lose her powers perhaps.

Just my two cents,I always assumed it was the physical act of losing her virginity. or am I just going off half cocked :D

In that context, surely 'not to be touched' means not shot or wounded, unlike the fleeing Bond. It's not to do with her virginal state.
