What I find interesting is that you have 4 different Bonds in the first 5 spots. I am currently reading The Union trilogy books and I have always thought the Fictional Bond is a unique character unto himself. When I picture him I never see any of the actors who have played him. I see Bond as I viewed him from the first time I read Casino Royal. I think that is what makes the character so timeless.
Although I'm not totally in agreement with those rankings, I think it's a pretty defensible list EXCEPT there is simply no Bond film worse than A View To A Kill! Not Die Another Day, not The Man With The Golden Gun, not Diamonds Are Forever. NONE of those are worse than AVTAK! Thank you and good night.
Thank goodness Casino Royale is in their top 5. It is my number one, but I can see why it is tough to swallow for Bond fans. I loved the classics before Casino Royale and still do, but I think quality and depth is at its best in Casino Royale. I have no problem with people who can't put it that high since it isn't the standard Bond experience, but if you can open your mind to the reboot being as worthy like I did, it deserves a high place on that list. Of the classics, I think the list is pretty good, but it isn't exactly like mine.
