Being Bond

Has anyone ever come across this site ? http://www.beingbond.co.uk/indexpage.php if you join his club then you get to keep Air soft and replica firearms for £50 per year, now this was quite tempting, until you go through his firearm list :o The guy must be living on another planet, the inflated prices and what he claims to have them insured for :)).

I love the LALD Co2 revolver :D , just goes to show what BS he comes out with, I must admit the idea sounded good, but they guy is so dishonest it put me off.

Wouldn't anyone on here be willing to run the same sort of set up ? Andy wasn't you looking into this ? I refuse to join Being a Bellend :D

he says the un-silenced Walther P99 from CR was used during the opening pre title sequence fight, but Bond used a PPK in that scene, and during the Prague execution his P99 was silenced.....maybe the Madagascar chase?

hmmm, there seems to be more discrepencies and question marks with the replica stuff than there are with real firearms......

i did hear than even the UKARA weren't officially recognised by the UK authorities, so membership to that counts for sweet FA.

the most stupid thing is that i'm not allowed to make a gun from plastic and resin, but i am allowed to own real guns.

nice one bliar/brown/camergoon, one thoroughly locked and secured stable door.

shame ya horse phucked off years ago....

actaully, on second thoughts, if you can get an experience with the blond bird on the beingbond website then i might consider joining up :o

"The BEING BOND Association is registered with the NAReS Association, a Government recognised body, and as such BEING BOND Association members are LEGALLY allowed to OWN and DISPLAY ACTUAL James Bond film prop weapons. Membership to the exclusive BEING BOND Association is open to individuals who are keen to participate in the BEING BOND Association events or who are looking to build up their own collection of James Bond film prop weapons."

at what stage does displaying replia guns in cabinets constitute re-enactment of an historical military battle?

i'm just thinking, in a worse case situation, when called up before his right honourable judge lockemup, would your defence of 'i belong to the NAReS but I don't actually do re-enacting' really stand more than a snowball in hell's chance of getting you off the hook?

i've actually had a further read through beingbond......

i thought rubber stunt props and hero versions were different things?

and hey, if you own a car in the rally list, you can take part in the august bank holiday bond rally! you get to drive round landan tarn, then drive all the way up to edinburgh over a 3 day period, you pay for the petrol, tax, insurance and accomodation and beingbond.ripoff will ony charge you £10,000 to take part!!!

if i want to rent an aston, or drive one, i know where to go. if i want to go paintballing, i know where to go. if i wanna get pissed on vespers, the drinks cabinet is right behind me.

why would i pay someone to set up stuff i already know about?

this guys on another planet, i'm steering well clear.

The thing is though, some people will think his props are genuine and will get ripped off by him, it aint right.

no mate, i too hate it when people are obviously on the take.

tbh the only way to make it worse would be if the owner of the site was a scots kid trying to act the big I am. :v

beingbond, imo, seems to be just a middleman service. they don't claim to actually own anything, so if i wanted to set up a bond themed event, the first thing i'd do would be contact propstore and hire the guns from them.

also, beingbond.con might be registered with the NAReS, but that would only cover them and their 'employees' as re-enacters. both the NAReS and UKARA websites clearly state you need to be REGULARLY INVOLVED I.E. PARTICIPATING in re-enacting to be valid members and thus be covered with the pubic liability insurance policies each association provides.

in summary, beingbond.con is not only misleading, but also openly invites people to push the boundaries of a very delicate situation (ie the whole re-enacting with replicas situation). its simply a middleman service that does nothing more than the yellow pages, your phone and your forefinger can do.

actually i would openly welcome mr jack to come along to ajb and explain all the points i've previously made.

if im wrong about him then he'd have my apologies and i'd gladly stand up and be counted.

    sadly though, i don't think that'll happen.

just taken another look though and things seem to have changed literally in the last few mins.

your 10k entry to the rally actually pays for your hotels, food and you get a jacket. sale of the century.

come on jack, man up and address the points.

i emailed them this "are there any pics of that magnum in Roger Moore's hands? just curious because it looks like a modern C02 revolver with black grips rather then the brown grips that Roger's had."
