Craig charms (not) in Esquire

Craig on cover of new Esquire. 'He doesn't do comedy' is the tagline, a slightly weary reference to the interviewer's inability to get much out of the guy, skirting round the issues of privacy. Some unflattering shots inside, it's odd too, how Craig really does look like a manboy in build. I mean, the likes of Bogart weren't tall, but never seemed to be actually only 5ft 4in in photo stills.
Craig doesn't talk about his private life, fine, but he don't seem to have a wide range of opinions on anything. And yeah, he swears a lot, maybe as a defence mechanism but also it seems that must mess up his line delivery, because the rhythm changes. Unless his character swears, it's like gonna put a strain on things.

The one with the blue cover is the one I saw but no interview in the link.

I might sound terribly old-fashioned, but it bothers me when celebrities swear non-stop during interviews. (Jason Statham is even worse than Craig in this regard.) To me, it just shows the overall coarsening of our culture. Not that I'm a saint in this regard; I let the occasional expletive sneak out. But that's the exception, not the rule.

That's a great scene. I'm not a Trekker (the politically correct term for Trekkies) by any means, but Star Trek IV was a pretty entertaining film, and I do admit to once or twice referring to "nuclear wessels."

My goodness! Those shots make him look old, at least compared to his usual look as Bond and in movies. It reminds me of the Omega watches site. Under ambassadors, the photo of Bond shows how good Craig can look being all tan and rested, then looking at the picture listed for Danial Craig himself, he looks paler, beat, and aged beyond his Bond look on that same site.
Oh well, he still looks handsome and will surely see the benefits of movie magic when the next Bond film comes around. His interview personality has always annoyed me. He seems uninterested in most interviews and if they can get him talking, he still isn't happy or enthusiastic, he's just there fulfilling his obligation. I think he is great, but his interviews make me wonder if that impression is wrong, ever since the Casino Royale days.
so to find once again that D Craig can't give an interview without swearing every other word.
Can't he learn a few more words to help him describe things, If they ever remake "Blazing saddles" he'd be a perfect "Mongo" as they seem to have the same speech level. ) and of course he'd be perfect after all that research he did to play an " Authentic" cowboy, watching some westerns, Hell if that's all that's needed, I've been researching playing a cowboy all my life I was raised watching John Wayne Movies. )
He truly is a Great ambassador for the Bond Series, To think how Sir Roger and Pierce Brosnan could use the english language in interviews to entertain an audiance with their erodite and laconic anecdotes.
I didn't believe it when some Fans said Craig was a "Yob" but with every interview he gives he does come across that way. )
Then again, acting is such a luvvy profession, all a bit camp and stuff, his gruff persona may be a reaction to that.

And if he gave erudite interviews you would call him camp again 8-)
Can't win can he !
No I wouldn't. By erudite, I mean learned, someone who's read a book or two.

apparently they couldn't publish his statement at the loss, as it had too much swearing in it, so they got Collin Farrell instead. )
I didn't think that you called him camp too, Nap ?:) Ah well -{

A good many are just parroting what they are told to say by their PR people.
Connery himself has had some pretty nasty moments, even when promoting a Bond film (while filming YOLT is a prime example).
If folks want to pick apart every little thing about DC that's their perogative. I just want to see a good Bond film on the level of CR in November 2012.
Agreed, but does he always have to be so grumpy and lacking in grace and charm? Somehow I could accept it more easily with Connerry. A friend of mine operates the distinction between smug/and or arrogant with good reason, and Smug/arrogant without justification. I suppose as I see Craig as a the luckiest character actor in the world catapulted into the worlds most high profile leading man role he could at least be a bit more humble. I think he is a very talented supporting player. In the final analysis it's me who must be out of step, as incredibly he does seem to be ' man of the moment'.
What we can agree on is looking forward to a return to form in 23.
