Magnoli ties and Baron Boutique suits, etc.

Based on a lot of what I've read here I bought the Montenegro, Royale, Quantum, Solace, Bolivia Champagne and London ties from Magnoli - I'm happy with the quality, patterns, etc. and they do seem more or less spot on with the swatches I've seen posted here but I've never had or even seen a real Tom Ford version.

I also purchased four suits from Baron Boutique to go with them - I got the end scene Casino Royale three-piece and their Quantum cut suits in charcoal, navy and navy pin-stripe. I was measured up by a local tailor and overall I'm pleased with the fit of the suits - no alterations were required at all to the jackets but the trousers were a little too large despite requesting a "snug" fit - anyway, they've been taken in now...

London Tie - and finally to my overdue point, does anyone know or have any ideas as to what the suit underneath the coat looks like in this scene?

Sounds like a good opportunity for you to post some pics of the suits etc. I'm curious to see what Barons quality is like, as they have pretty poor pictures on their own website.

    If you could?

The London suit is the same as the Greene Party midnight blue suit. The suit is worn in the scene at headquarters without the navy overcoat.

The London suit is charcoal and not navy although it is the same cut and style as the Greene party suit and all the other suits worn by Bond in QOS. The London overcoat always appeared charcoal to me and not navy... I may be wrong...

The coat I'm pretty sure is navy. But the suit I was never sure about because when it's that dark it's very hard to tell. The average person would just see that and the Greene party suits as black. I could never find any confirmation on the colour, and I never saw any swatches available. But now that I look at the promo shots again, I'm not seeing the blue any more in the suit.

Now, is the Kazan suit the same as the London suit? We hardly see it, so it's very hard to tell what colour it is.

I never realized that the shirt in Montenegro was not blue but blue with pinstripes. Thanks for that information!

That is a fantastic blog if i do say so myself. I would still love to see some pics of your baron boutique suits. I agree with Expat their pics on their website are not the best.

Glad you guys like the blog. As opposed to many of the people here, I am not a collector and I'm not as interested in the origins of the clothes. I'm both a Bond and a clothing enthusiast, and my wardrobe is very much Bond-inspired. But I don't go as far as to have clothes made just like Bond's. The closest is a sports coat I had made that was inspired by something Pierce Brosnan wore in Remington Steele. And I have grenadine ties from Turnbull & Asser (and other brands) that are just like the ones Connery wore in all his Bond films (except Goldfinger, where all the ties were knit). Traditional English shirts just like Bond's probably don't count.
