I have interests in Florida and was sweating this storm out, but luck was with me. Best wishes to those in her path, and may luck be with you as well.

Well, Ive been without power since Sunday morning at approximately 1:00 AM. However, I have gas so I've been able to boil water to make coffee with my Chemex. It makes a remarkebly good cup of joe. Living the dream in propper Bond style! I suspect I'll be using the Chemex for a few more days.

For those of you who don't know James Bond used a Chemex in the novels. Here is a link to the coffee maker:

I live in Florida but know people in New Jersey and Vermont. I am so glad the storm missed us, but am greatly disturbed by the damage it caused and is continuing to cause in those states. I was here when the big three hit in the summer of 2004 - it was no picnic.

Glad to see we all "Made it"
I went through it very well.
Lot of rain and the yard was underwater for awhile but my pump drained it all out in a day.
High winds and we lost power but, luckily, came back on in a few hours.
Amazing how much we depend on electricity...
Again, welcome back. Hope all goes quickly with power restoration.

Have an elderly relative in Paterson - thankfully they don't live near the river. We were just there a year ago. I can't
believe the flooding! Glad you came out ok spyboys11.

Thanks guys! Still no power as of this morning. However it's a small thing compared to some people who have lost everything due to flooding. So if I have to suck it up a few days longer, no problem. I'm counting my blessings. The Chemex still works and makes a mean cup of coffee. James Bond to the rescue!

I had to drive to my college in Vermont, from Queensbury New York this past Sunday. The winds were firece and it rained for most of the day. Thankfully it was a quick trip and despite the rains my Parents and I were able to move my belongings into the dorm without getting them wet.

Hope all goes well for everyone as you get things back in order.

Finally got power back today after five and a half days! It feels great to be plugged back in. Time to put the Chemex back on the display shelf with James Bond's coffee cup and saucer. It served me well, but coffee set to go off on a timer is so much easier.

My heart goes out to all the people who lost everything. Keep the faith!
