Roll on Bond 23!

It seems we have all long debated the various clothing of CR and QoS whether they be original brand items or replicas and alternatives. Does anyone else long for Bond 23 to come along so we can look towards something new? Knowing my luck we will see the same Sunspel polos and TF ties again in the next movie :))

No, they can take as long as they want with #23.

My dedication to getting this stuff and the prices of Mr Tom Ford have left me in the poor house. ;)

So, no. Take your time, EON, getting the next one out.

    Honest. :D

Ha - I wrote a similar thread the other day. I missed the excitement of the last few films as was not around here.

    Lets see now....

Sunglasses - easy to get until they stop making them
St Dupont Cufflinks - get them straight away if ltd edition (get two)
Ties - get straight away, I have not got any and missed the TFs
Jackets - prob get as soon as poss
Omega Watch - dream and save
Tom Ford clothes - umm forget those

Only kidding with the above but im def gunning for the ties and any Ltd edition stuff first (which is affordable)

What stage during shooting did you guys start looking/identifying stuff from leaked pics from the sets etc. Does shooting actually start in Nov with Bond or are the studio just setting up production?

You are probably not actually far away from the above to be fair.

I have had three Omegas and while I would consider another Seamaster (liquid metal version) I still wish Bond would go back to wearing a Rolex. The new Submariner would continue the old Bond tradition nicely.

Dont get me wrong I love Omegas (have a seamaster and saving for PO) however I agree and think Bond needs to return back to the Sub. Its only been two films and I already feel DC has exausted the Omega brand.

Of course I doubt it will happen as the Omega gets a fair share of screen time hence I guess Omega contribute a fair bit to the production costs

I hope for Bonds more casual attire they go back to the more affordable brands e.g. sunspel etc. Great quality, fairly high price but not TF obscene.

Omega must pay quite a chunk for the product placement whereas Rolex won't - and they don't need to. I do like Omega watches don't get me wrong but Bond should have a Submariner IMHO :))

Just curious, why are people so for Rolex coming back? They both seem like great watches so what's wrong with Omega? Maybe I am just forgetting an obvious reason.

Anyways, I missed all the info for stuff on the last two Bond movies, so I will be paying attention to these forums for Bond 23!

I love Omega however would love to see "change". It seems an age since Brosnan was first sporting the Omega Seamaster and in just 2 films Daniel Craig has already showed off 3 different models. I just think it would be refreshing and nostalgic to see a Rolex.

Just to be clear I wasn't insinuating a Rolex V Omega kind of thing

I have seen multiple people post they thought Bond "should" be wearing Rolex or that they want Rolex back. I was just curious as to why it would be preferred. With many things like clothes and accessories, I like to see change and new brands, but I like the idea of the watch being a long term choice like the Aston Martins. I wouldn't mind Rolex, but I like knowing that Omega will be on his wrist as the movies progress...

Well I guess a lot of the people see the Rolex as the original Bond watch!!

I hope he doesn't wear the new Seamaster in Bond 23 - I saw the new 2011 one the other day and it looks a bit dull without the wave design

Flemming himself put a Rolex on Bond's wrist in his books and it was a Rolex that was worn by Bond on screen by Connery, Lazenby and (at the start of his tenure) Moore. To me Rolex to Bond is the same thing as an Aston Martin to Bond. Yet we have seen the change to Omega while the Aston Martin link has endured. Why? Product placement! Its all about money but I personally feel Bond, if he were real, would stick to his trusty Rolex and Aston Martin.

There is no slur here against Omega - they make brilliant watches - and indeed I've owned three Seamasters. However, I prefer my two Rolex watches (Submariner and GMT-MAster II) and found myself always opting to wear a Rolex. As a result I sold my Omegas although I would seriously consider another Planet Ocean in the future.

what I like about the new Rolex Submariner is the fact, that the bezel insert lays flatter than with the old one. Also the Maxidial with the enlarged dots for the hours is a reference to the old Subs.

What I don't like is the bezel insert material (the ceramics seldom looks black, it often seems to be grayish because it is highly reflective) the oversized lugs and the fat crown guards.

But I'd be happy to see Rolex back - however as they refuse to pay, it'll not happen :#

Agreed, which is why I haven't traded my Submariner 16610 up for the new model.

Strangely though I rather like the ceramic bezel on my GMT-Master II.

As I suspected, I was forgetting an obvious reason to bring it back - it was in the books!
