Not a sub but I purchased a Sea Dweller a few years back and love it. For me it has that Bondonian appeal because it's an over engineered tool watch that not only serves a purpose but has a great look going for it. I also prefer a date feature without the cyclops. I could see the modern Bond wearing a Sea Dweller....IMO
Bondtoys, what model GMT do you have? I've been thinking about getting a GMT lately but prefer the pre-ceramic watches for the reasons you stated. Any chance you plan on selling it?
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.
@ maxximus: Excellent choice. I have a Sea Dweller 4000 as well. Unfortunately, in the last weeks, I did read about corrosion at the inside of the case (near the HEV) and I hope, that that will not be a general problem http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=190495&highlight=helium+valve
@Monza: I have a GMT II 16710 and all 3 bezel inserts ( black, black-red and blue-red). So far no plans selling it

Hi Welsh Boy, My gran unfortunately passed away and left me some money so i purchased a Submariner (the latest model with date) on saturday. Ive absolutely fallen in love with it. I have a planet ocean with rubber strap, a seamaster and a Panerai. So it joins my elite group. You wont regret buying it i am sure.

Sorry to hear about the news of your gran.
I should hopefully receive mine any day now - thanks for the info, makes me more excited like Xmas is already here!!!
I guess your Omegas may get some more "rest" time!!
Not yet Bondtoys, thought it might have made it on Friday but it didn't. Next plane is in today so hopefully tomorrow I will have it!! (only 2 planes a week into the Islands so mail is a bit slow and Xmas ain't helping things!!!)
Thanks!!! I normally take my watch off at night but kept the Sub on last night )
One of the first things I did when I opened the box was try out turning the bezel, I remember Bondtoys mentioning how impressive it was. Indeed it turns with ease and superb precision with a nice click at each point, very smooth!!!
Im loving the bracelet and the Glidelock adjust clasp, I had the shop adjust to my approx wrist size but love how I can adjust larger or bigger on the fly to compensate for slight changes of the wrist at different times of the day etc if need be.
The wait was torture to send out here (2 weeks) and I had a few disappointed mornings waiting for the post etc over the last week however I guess it was a bit like waiting for Santa!! -{
glad that you have received your new toy, welshie and welcome to the club.
Now, I hope, that you found more appealing details on your Sub than the bezel, it looks pretty well on your wrist! -{
Cheers!!
Actually tonite I spent a good hour locating the tiny Rolex crown that is laser etched into the Sapphire glass!! After pratting around with different lighting and angles I finally found it, however I have had a few drinks which probably didn't help!!!
The Sub is beautiful! Here is my PO 45mm. I plan on getting the new PO Blue face...if it shows up in Skyfall
If I was to get a PO then that one with rubber strap would be the one!!! Still might pick one up some point!!!!!
I guess your a huge PO fan??
I'm sure the Blue one is a dead cert to be Bonds new watch!!! Looks very nice! Wonder if they will slip in the new Seamaster also, half and half like Casino Royale!

Omega makes a great watch! I am sure whatever teh use in Skyfall will be different than the past. Maybe the black seamaster and the Blue PO. They know us geeks will go out and buy them!
I had a scare yesterday aboard a fishing trawler, when leaving the ship I smacked my watch on a steel door, I looked down and there were particles of rust on my bezel. I blew the rust off and luckily there is not a scratch on the bezel - still looking like new!!
Of course I don't expect to baby this thing but it was not the kind of smack to have in the first week lol
Here are a few more pics I took in the car last week waiting for the Mrs to finish shopping!!
Glad you are enjoying your new watch, Welshboy! I love both my Submariner and GMT-Master II and wouldn't be without them. That said I miss my Seamaster Planet Ocean and think I might get another )
Thats just on the crystal, after reading the odd story on the Rolex Forums about dust particles on the dial / under the crystal. I did a thorough check and it seems to be nice and clean to my naked eye!!!

Hows the weather in Hawaii? -{
Please give my regards to Magnum and Higgins! It looks as though you have all of Mr. Master's private beach to yourself!
Enjoy! {[]
Unfortunately, it was very windy the last 2 days (you should see my nipples ) but hopefully that will change today.
Besides this: Life is good!

I will get some better wrist shot up -{
Of course but I still wear Marigolds!! )
I would say so - if I had to guess I would have thought that PO was the 45mm version.
I will get another pic up - though to be honest I prefer fairly big watches anyhow and was eyeing up the 45mm PO before I considered the Sub!!

That piece of lint, is that on the crystal or on the dial?
