now, welshie, after owning this piece now for over 10 weeks:
How is your summary?
Well as you know, for a month of this 10 weeks I went on vacation to South America, no offense to South American's but I left the Sub at home as I didn't fancy getting my arm chopped off
Anyhow I missed it dearly and was winding her back up the moment I got back through my door!
Whilst away, typically I was up at dawn browsing the web and came across a "Bargain" 2010 unused Omega Co-Axial Seamaster (my previous watch), being a sucker for collecting DC era stuff I chucked it on my credit card! Anyhow yesterday before work instead of putting on the Sub I chucked on the new Seamaster, the spanking new bracelet looked lovely etc however by the end of the day I missed the Sub and reverted back mainly due to the presence on my wrist! During the day I often find myself adjusting the Sub at least once with the glide lock bracelet, I really miss that on the Omega which starts off fine and then gets too loose or tight etc during the day, I guess the glide lock system sort of turns you into a bit of a picky snob when it comes to fit and adjustment!
Of course in the looks department the Sub is gleaming on my wrist - Im not sure if its just the glossy, reflective ceramic bezel but I must admit I waste daft amount of time glancing at the Sub, it does really stand out (of course not always a good thing depending on taste). I would be very interested to see the new "Bond" blue Omega Seamaster range with Ceramic bezels to see how they have transformed it, would imagine similar kind of effect!
I have not measured exact time keeping (I'm not geeky enough with monitoring and comparing movement performance etc) however its seems great to me!!
Off swimming maybe this weekend so will give it a go in the water and test the depth to see if it can handle 2 meters )
I guess Basel has kicked off by now? Has Rolex any suprises?
I have a Rolex Sub, a Rolex GMT Master and an Omega Seamaster PO. I love all three and they all get plenty of wrist time! However, if I had to choose just the one it would be the Sub. It is the ultimate classic sports watch that can be worn anywhere and at any time. You just cannot go wrong with the Rolex Submariner!

Basel starts next week
Some think that Rolex will have a Submariner there too.
Well if they do it could be a non-date maybe? Although the current non-date still seems to be going strong. I fear the future of the non-date Sub is in doubt myself.
Sky-Dweller with annual calendar. The black field at VIII shows the month.
An entire new movement (guess that Rolex will use that in all other models in the upcoming years)
Only available in gold so far.
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
The Sky Dweller preview was nice, the watch not so much. But then only the original Bond Submariner was interesting to me. I doubt I'll ever get a Rolex. If I did, it would just be for the name. Then I would have to modify the watch to get what I want.
The new Skydweller is bloody awful in my opinion! It had the potential to be a nice watch but that bezel is just VILE!
However, the new non-date Submariner is a beaut and very Bond-like! Not as elegant as the previous model Submariner (which if I am honest I prefer) but still a great addition to the Rolex line.

I don't like the bezel, but it must be that way as many functions are executed with the bezel and not with the crown
