Invisibility now optional on the challenger... Vanquish next?

I've taken quite a bit of stick on here, arguing that the invisible vanquish of die another day was only a few years away..... 8-)

Well looks like it's arrived for tanks (challengers possibly if the uk could afford it!) and therefore why not an Aston?

That isn't visual though from what I gather...

It looks like that just disguises it to certain visual detections.

Actually, this technology isn't really new:

This shows an 'invisible' coat as developped by Japanese Scientists few years ago. I am pretty sure the idea for the AM-"Vanish" is based on this invention

I once did a concealment course in the army where we used all sorts of mirrored "gilly suits" to reflect the surroundings. We were unofficially testing them out. They also had mirrored panels on armoured guns and tanks, to reflect the terrain back at anyone looking at it. It wasn't great - but it was fifteen years ago and really cutting edge back then.

This is what I was thinking about. I think I watched something about it more recently and it was actually really awesome how well it hid the guy in the demo, though movement made it easier to catch.

A bit like Derren Brown or David Blaine's hypnosis and mind games, it may be awesome but I don't want to see it in movies, you can't believe it in a fictional context. Unless, that is, it's done for real and is imperfect, as with the coat above. Of course, that would inevitably date it as improvements continue.
