Hello, my name is Lee and I am the founder of http://www.ratemycollection.com.
The RateMyCollection site has been designed to be a fun and easy place for users to exhibit, share and promote their collections. There are many different categories and users can post pictures, valuations and discussions topics in relation to their collections. You can also feature in further details up to 10 Featured Items.
The site is free to use and registered users can submit news articles and events and list their ebay shops or other Collecting related businesses in the site's Business Directory. We're based in the UK, but we are hoping to make the site a global success.
The site is centred around a rating system that drives the placement of your listings. Collection can be ranked by the viewer based on a number of attributes (most views, highest rating in category, highest rating overall) to suit their interest.
The site does not require any personnel information so collection listings are totally anonymous.
We see the site as complementing forums such as this one, giving users the opportunity to link to their collection exhibits.
We'd love to get some James Bond collections on the site. So if your an avid collector of James Bond, why not exhibit them at www.ratemycollection.com
Try it out, if you like it tell others, if not tell us by posting here, posting on the site or by e-mailing marketing@ratemycollection.com
Also there is a Limited Edition Founder Members Badge Promotion. Limited to 500 badges T&C's apply. Check out the site for further details.
Good Luck with your collections.

At any rate, we have a Collecting forum, so I'm moving your topic to the right place!
Did you check out the site. If so I hope you got a sense of what we are trying to build and that we are not some fly-by-night spammers trying to get a quick buck.
Obviously I'm trying to spread the word about our new site, but our ethos is For the site to be a useful reference point or exhibition centre for users of forum boards such as this one. We want to engage with collectors in their area of interest and in the environment their are comfortable with. Our aim is to encourage collectors to extend their collection and to encourage new collectors, thus adding something positive to the industry.
Also, given that we are British, we love James Bond movies and would love to see our greatest export feature strongly on the site.
Thanks and Good Luck
Lee

I checked out the yourprops Site. It looked good I thought. Our site offers something a little different as it has a rating system and generally revolves more around collections.
The collection is greater than the sum of it's parts!

Think to yourself - "would David Cameron put his name to this collection listing?" If the answer is yes then it's welcome on the site.
noone really wants us and our collections.......
Doesn't Cameron like or wear thongs, by the way?
And we have a lot of thongs in my family, not to mention all the arses )

David Cameron would put his name to anything if he thought he'd get a couple of votes from it X-(
I guess you have an extensive "hug a hoodie" collection then !
Yeah, here in Australia people show off their thongs everywhere, particularly in summer. Though pesonally I prefer sandals - they don't fall off so easily.
We've not got a category for that, but it could work.
I love this angle guys, its given me an idea. Thanks.
Would you see it as being a category of its own or a sub category of an existing item on the site.
Perhaps
Category -> Models
Sub Category -> Model Cars
What do you think?
