If James Bond had a collection, what would it be?

Hello Everybody,

I was having some interesting discussions with your members on my previous post and their various humorous responses lead me to ponder......

If James Bond had a collection, what would it be?

I'll throw it out there for the GBP.

I don't think, that Bond would be a collector type.

He is very picky with the items, that he chooses, but he picks them up for their present quality and not for a sentimental reason.

Sentimentality only counts for his Bentley, but he'll not have a garage full of Bentleys if you understand, what I mean.

    Mental collection of kills.

I agree with Bondtoys. I can't imagine a shelf or drawer of anything specific. At most a couple photos in his desk or something.

Didn't Bond had a collection of some of the gadgets used by his past would-be assassins in OHMSS? :P

I think James Bond would collect Vintage Champagne.

Anything 007 might have laying about his office from earlier missions is but a momento, a left over from a previous assisgnment and not a collection.

Well I think DC is a bit of a Rolex collector judging by what he is seen wearing but I don't think the fictional Bond would collect things as such. He has other interests...

However, for fun, how about naval items? He was afterall a Commander in the Royal Navy and it is quite common for officers of the British Armed Forces to collect military related items.

I am just listening to an audiobook of the 1988 John Gardner 007 novel Scorpius and there is a mention of 007 listening to some Jazz music when in the lift going to the Avante Carte offices in London.

Here is a quote from the book

"At least here the muzac was different. Not the sickly strings playing romantic popular romantic standards. This was very much Bond's style. He could even date it. Gertrude 'Ma' Rainey. Accompanied by a very rough un-named Jazz group. The 1927 re-recording of her 1924 "New Bo-Weevil Blues". Bond had the recording on an old 78 RPM in his own collection. This one had obviously been enhanced. Ma Rainey still came out on top."

So Bond collects Jazz music records.

I can see Bond as a record collector or collecting military items related to his time in the Royal Navy. According to John Gardner he owns a Royal Marine commando dagger that he uses as a letter opener. Perhaps a model of one or two ships he served on.

I wonder if there is anybody out there who collects credit cards, other than criminals and the lost and found department of Tescos ( particularly at Christmas when people tend to lose their heads). People change them so often that there is bound to be somebody out there that keeps each one.
