I agree with other members here and think in the film the hour markers only go red when the watch is turned into a magnet - I think if you watch the film closley Bond just puts his hand over the top of the watch and then it starts to act as a buzz-saw.

Maybe there was one prop for the watch with the red markers for the magnet scenes and this is the watch used for the buzz-saw scenes?

Makes you wonder how many actual watches are used in each of the Bond films?

Two different 5513's were used. One for the buzzsaw and one to depict the magnet. The tritium markers have turned dark with age. The luminous markers will change depending on how the watch is stored. It usually happens when stored in a dark place. Today, Rolex uses luminova so the markers will never change. The older Rolexes with radium and later tritium markers change color over time.

i get what ya saying with the colour change thing DG, but the pics seem to show bare brass, which would leave me to believe that the coating, be it the red paint or luminous material, has been removed at some point, although i'm not sure why anyone would do that.

Singe, open your eyes, don't just look and let your brain compute, if you look very closely you can see that the marker is just discoloured , the magnetic watch with the red markers had them under the face.

No, I'm positive the tritum on the dial has merely aged. There are numerous examples of it. Tritium has a tendancy to darken when stored in a dark place. Likewise, exposure to sunlight or UV will keep the markers from getting dark. I hear tell that you can also reverse the process (lighten the markers) by exposure to UV.

danjaq_off is right, the watch with the red markers had a pierced dial.
