    Never theorize before you have data. Invariably, you end up twisting facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.

    Personally, I think it looks okay as it is. Replacing the buttons would not look right based on the way in which it's stitched and seamed. Perhaps consider photoshop to see, I may be wrong.

    I think the leather buttons go better with a garment made from heavy wool.
