    I feel like the US version is charmless. Maybe because I am American and just get no special enjoyment out of it since it is a culture I know too well, rather than love from afar (not a fan of the many popular "artists" in the US these days). Simon Cowell and his acts are surprisingly the only reason I watch. He seems genuinely happy to talk about them and they are genuinely talented, though not too unique. I find myself thinking that Steve Jones host is like a dumb awkward dog and the other judges are not playing fair because they are annoyed by Simon having better acts (and the arrogance that he gets to amp up because he knows they're better). It just isn't fun or sweet like the UK version has made me feel in the past before (a little less spark in the UK this year, but that happens with age).

    So, thumbs down on the US version, but thumbs up on the rumors of Simon returning to the UK version (which we know won't end since it still holds its own in the ratings).

    Good result I think. Little Mix really started to shine the past couple of weeks and marcus just became a bit bland and mediocre.

    Good for the girls -{

    I thought the finale weekend was well done. I thought it was really nice to see the mentors perform with their finalists. Little Mix made for great winners and it was nice to see every contestant reunite at the end. Not a bad ending at all. :)

    Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have signed up as judges for the US version of the X Factor. They will join Simon Cowell and L. A. Reid. Simon Cowell had promised to shake up the show after ratings failed to match his predictions. "We're going to make this the best series we've ever made. We started off well last year but we are going to seriously kick butt with the addition of these guys."

    I think Miss Spears should be the representation of every reason why a young person should steer clear of the industry.

    Britney Spears would be a useless judge on just about any show, but maybe since she is trying to mentor a win, she'll sound more involved. I can't remember ever hearing her say anything worthwhile. Obviously, she is a huge name and will grab ratings anyways.

    I don't know much about Demi Lovato, except that she is perceived fairly positively.

    Agreed here too.

    She was on our X Factor a little while back when she was making her 'comeback'.

    She was bloody awful and a total space cadet.

    I hope she's in a better place mentally now. If she is she could be a good mentor. After all if anyone has experienced the highs and lows of showbiz its her!!

    Nicole Scherzinger has been confirmed as a new judge (replacing Kelly Rowland) on the X Factor UK. She was originally hired for the X Factor USA after Cheryl Cole was axed just four days into filming. Scherzinger herself was then axed after just one series. "I'm so excited to join the UK X Factor family. It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can't wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists."

    I think my favorite thing that Nicole brought on The X Factor US was her response to a snub by Simon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opKCl0yl1nM

    I really think Simon needs to widen his net or his programmes are going to really suffer. He regurgitates the same people in all his shows whether in the UK or US.

    Nicole is just about as boring as it gets and she has been given so many oppurtunities to proove otherwise.

    Cant he bring in Frankie 'Saturday' or someone young and funky ?? or an Annie Lennox ??? Having actual talent has never been a prerequisite before so the field is wide open......
