You're absolutely correct. I worked in the film industry for several years and people used to ask if it spoiled my movie-going experience because I knew how things were done and knew the secrets behind the 'magic'. The reality is that it enhances the experience. Not only am I able to enjoy the movie as entertainment, but I now have the added appreciation of marvelling at things like lighting and camera angles which most people would never notice.
The only thing worse than spending a 12 hour day - or several days - working on a scene that only lasts for 3 seconds on the screen, is spending a 12 hour day - or several days - working on a scene that ends up on the cutting room floor!

I don't know about enhancing the experience, but I still enjoy films as much as I did before my 13-year stint working in the industry.
I definitely enjoy it more. The first time I watch it is the same as always, but then I start thinking about certain shots and scenes. Was it done in one continuous shot. Was that a crane or a steadi-cam. It gives me lots to think of afterwards...and I get even more out of a second - DVD/Blu-Ray - viewing.

I've done some screenwriting, and been in the 'development' end of things---which is the 'least seen' aspect of filmmaking...I personally consider all of this part of the complete experience; wouldn't forsake it for anything.

I have come across a series of eighteen pics (including the one below) that feature Judi Dench in a scene filmed in the rain. Not sure when the scene was shot. My guess would be Saturday evening (18th Feb).

They filmed at Waterloo first thing, then Parliament Square and Whitehall late morning. Sam Mendes came along with Judi Dench to shoot a very small scene and he didn't like the lighting of the earlier footage so they had to reshoot the Waterloo/Parliament Square parts.
Nothing too exciting, Just bunch of cars driving around, one of which had Judi Denches character in it. Her double did most of the work though, as you couldnt really see through the windows.
I also saw Rory Kinnear at the base, but I didnt see what he filmed. There was a car with a camera mounted to the side, so I assume he was in that shot with Judi that Sam Mendes directed.
From what I heard from the crew, Daniel was at Pinewood filming in the big water tanks, supposedly for a scene set in Shanghai, but don't quote me on that one.

I notice they usually have one clapperboard pic a week, usually released on Friday. I wonder how much longer they have to shoot? Will they use the clapperboard pics to tell us shooting has wrapped up?

As I understand, filming will begin very shortly in Turkey and is expected to take between two and three months. It looks like the shoot will be complete by the end of May. And it would be amusing if the final clapperboard pic had the message "And that's a wrap".
