Introduction From Classic Royale

Hi, I Joined recently But can't seem to find a text window in my profile to do an introduction of myself, perhaps a mod, can help me or move this to right area:P

Well, Im here, and im one of the biggest james Bond fan out there, since 1963, (giving my age away now). Thunderball I first saw at our local Eastbourne Odeon, got me hooked into 007, and I used to come out, and thrashed my Lambretta SX200 down the road, at 17, your full of Ego :)) No helmet of course, wasnt a requirement in the late sixties and seventies.

Cut a long story short, My affair with Bond has been a very long one, I own several Vinyl Record Soundtracks, originals, from when I worked in W.H. Smith. "The man with golden gun" "Goldfinger" etc. I will post other collection pieces in appropiate forum later.

Unfortunetly I havent had the pleasure of meeting many 007 actors, apart from Miss moneypenny, louis maxwell at the NEC Arena, and Caroline Munro, (helicopter pilot "Spy Who loved me") but I did sit in the DB5 for a £1 charity and swooned at the beauty of the david brown Steering Wheel :)

The definitive time in my life that 007 took over my life, was in 1989, the day the berlin wall fell. I fell in love with the "Living daylights" seeing part of the film was filmed at beachy head (the malta Land Rover), I decided to take a trip of a lifetime, and after I came into some inheritance, I planned A drive and a stay for 3 weeks in Vienna, including christmas and New year. I bought an almost brand new vauxhall cavalier, in 1989, they cost around £3000! An Amstrad Camcorder, Booked My hovercraft ticket from Dover and the Hotel Annanis in Vienna.

I drove through many countries, staying at german motorway motels, before turning East from Salzburg To Vienna.
After settling in, I made my way, first to the schonbrunn palace, when Bond first arrived with kara on the back of that lorry!
it was very differant than when The Film was made, because this wasn't summer, it was Christmas and -5c with light snow, But enjoyed my visit and a carriage ride around the inner circle Tours.

The next day I was on my way to the Prater park, to see the Big Wheel and the funfair, this was awesome, And I actually rode one of the dodgem cars, near the wheel, just as 007 and kara did. I also saw the gargoyle from the ghost train, the souvenier shop under the Wheel is real, But the Prater Cafe, Where saunders gets Killed By Necros, was filmed in an entirely differant area. but still couldnt resist saying to myself "Balloon mein heir"! :))

In all, it was a great experiance and met many locals who told me where and what was filmed. In total I drove 3,500 miles there and back, I would have loved to visit Bratislava, across the Danube, But I needed a Visa to enter that country which I didnt have.

Its great to be here, and I hope to share many aspects of my long affair with Bond, Moonraker5 I actually use for many user names on the Internet for 10 years. I have made several Virtual exhibitions of Bond items in Second Life, including The whole Island of "Man with the golden gun". I attach some pics of Scaramangers Hideout me and my second life Partner made one day. I also had made a Virtual Golden gun by another friend. it rests in a crows beak on a plinth surrounded by red and black triangles and strobe lights.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my Introduction, and hope to contribute quite a lot in the future. Signature will follow soon:

Barman! "Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel."
