Casino Royale Cologne?

Mr BeechMr Beech Florida, USAPosts: 1,749MI6 Agent
Was there any cologne noted as used in Casino Royale (2006)? I am curious as I wold love to know what might be appropriate for such great locations. If there wasn't an official one tied to the movie, do you have any suggestions for a fragrance that you feel would be fitting of the cool, European, elegant, luxurious setting? (besides Floris and Vesper's bottle) Suggest away (if there is no definite answer)

Tom ford tobacco vanille, my personal fav and would fit the location

I guess Tom Ford would fit the bill. However, if you are thinking of one for yourself surely you should go test a number out and opt for the one 'you' personally like best.

I hear that Virgin Island Water is a nice tropical cologne, perfect for a vacation in the Carribean or islands. That is subjective, so smell it yourself to see if you think it is better than Tobacco Vanille. As for if it was used in Casino Royale, I don't believe I've seen that information anywhere, so I think he was throwing a suggestion here.

Thanks for that, Mr Beech; I wasn't aware Virgin Island Water was used in CR, either, so it's nice to have confirmation it appears not to have been.

Then again, I'm not sure how Ford's Tobacco Vanille became associated with QOS other than it being, apparently, Craig's aftershave of choice at the time...
  • spartanrkspartanrk Las VegasPosts: 88MI6 Agent
Correct, I was just making the suggestion
  • nms75nms75 United KingdomPosts: 1,233MI6 Agent
I am also not aware of any fragrances as such being associated with CR or QOS for 007 himself. I wear Tom Ford's original EDT for men and love it - seems a rather Bondian fragrance to me and ideal for the criteria outlined above. Of course that is only my opinion and some might prefer Old Spice or Brut for Men :)) :v

Cologne is, with a few exceptions, cheap single-layer perfume with less concentration. You don't know what a man is.

Where do you live? Men don't admit they wear perfume? Are you in Alabama? This 2011. You don't have to wear a skirt like Marc Jacobs, but wearing perfume or «Eau de toilette» (watered down perfume) is pretty basic.

I believe DC uses VIW in real life but he wouldn't have used it when the film was made. VIW and Tobaco Vanile were both launched the year after CR was released. I seem to vaguely recall that a foreign fashion mag once mentioned him wearing Bulgari Extreme around 06 but the text was in Spanish or Portugese or some such. Also one of the UK tabloids linked him to Floris 89 but I suspect that is a lazy 007 connection. Certainly he's been supplied with Dunhill Custom at the recent GQ man of the year awards- and Dunhill London at a previous GQ event...of course he might have just thrown those goodie bags in the bin.
Personally I know his (now ex ) bought him VIW in 08/09 and I think he's likely to be still using it.
