The song isn't bad at all...it could be re-worked very well...but I very much doubt this will be used...here is the song in full - Freaky Teeth
Thanks for the link! Was interested to hear it since that story this morning.
As a repentent Oasis fan (as in, I was when I was a student, then wasn't, now have a re-found appreciation while tagging the word c**k in front of any Gallagher brother).
First, don't like that song one little bit. Slightly chilled that he listened back to that and thought it would make a "great f****** Bond theme", as I have to profoundly disagree with that. However, that said, I wouldn't be averse to Noel Gallagher performing the theme, and if it were that effort, for argument sake, it wouldn't be hard to trump the travesty of White & Keys singing about Bond's homies...
From Noel: "Now, I don't know whether you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by "007 bosses"!!!!! A meeting will be "taking place in the next few days"!!!! With some guy called "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!!! A "source" says, "nothing has been signed or made official"!!!! Of course it fuckin' hasn't!!!!!! Who IS this fuckin' "source"? Has he been on the "sauce"?
Yea, anything would be better than that White / Keyes song....absolutely horrible!
They should go for the British version of Keys and White, Frankie cocozza and Susan Boyle. With Simon Cowell behind it, It's a guaranteed #1, We could listen to How Simon saved the Bond theme. Then Next year have a TV competition to choose the theme song and Act.
My choice is still Lady Gaga, It's about time we had a little fun. )

I wouldn't mind GaGa. Whilst she is a little, erm, strange at times, she can sing and knows how to put a tune together .... Can you imagine her premier outfit !!!!!!

Yep, I was just coming on here to say the same thing... it was on Radio 1 earlier today.... you just beat me to it
It's going to be like this for a while I think. Although if Adele is better, I do think she will be singing it....

She has a damn good voice, which you can hear in her duet with Tony Bennet, though I am not sure I want her own club style on board.

That made me LOL ) My feelings exactly when it comes to the loathesome pair :v
I think that's a bit unfair on Noel...now he's given up the Drink and drugs he seems to have calmed down....and is very good to listen too when chatting...
Wait a second..... Noel Gallagher thinks this would make a killer Bond song....? The intro sounds a lot like the Batman theme, at 0:24 the Bond theme kick in and at 0:50 the Batman theme is back (just listen to the keyboards) etc. etc. So yes, IMHO this has a certain Bond feel to it, it is what you get when you use the same (kind of) riff. But if the 'powers that be' decide not to use Gallagher he shouldn't fret about it. It could also make a killer Batman theme!

He's not fretting about it and he didn't say it would make a great Bond theme - the excerpt from his blog above confirms he did no such thing and has not spoken to anyone at EON. It's all false reporting.
I'd love to see old Noel doing a Bond theme, as Oasis have used many Beatles riffs in their music. I think it's only fitting He does a "Wings" Tribute for Skyfall.

But do keep him away from Liam ! )
Actually, I'll give you that. Noel is by far the most personable of them these days but as for Liam .... In the words of the great Peter Kay 'what a kn*b head' .... )
One of the top comments on this song said it should be the next Bond theme. I didn't like it on the first listen, but I think it has a good hook and there are some gorgeous scenes of this girl (though, she clearly has had plastic surgery to get her 1960s looks). Obviously since it is already out, and maybe a bit unusual, it isn't going to be it, but nonetheless, the comment caught my attention:
I think she would be great, but perhaps is under the radar right now since she took a break from recording until just recently. She definitely is capable.
I cannot think of anyone more appropriate than Dame Shirley Bassey for the 50th anniversary, she is the artist who is most synonymous with Bond title songs. GF is regarded as a classic, DAF is very popular. MR is less popular but I see it as very underrated.
If you are thinking that Dame Shirley may not have "the voice" anymore then click on the link below. You can see her performing GF at the late great John Barry's memorial concert last year.

I've said this many times in another thread, but no one is better suited for the job of singing the Bond theme than Dame Shirley Bassey. From an interview some time ago, she said she'd love to do another Bond theme. So why not let her do one, especially given that it's going to be the 50th anniversary of Bond?
After brushing up on her recent performances linked in this thread, I'll give her my number one vote. That would be fantastic and she has the voice that we would love to hear.
I apologise if she has already been mentioned, but what with the DC era being a re-invention of the Bond franchise somewhat, a younger, grittier Bond… how about Lana Del Rey?
Not this song of course, but this style speaks to me… given the David Arnold treatment she'd be an interesting and I believe successful choice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t-I-Lqy06g

Ok...I'm gonna double down now. 50th Anni film....how about Dame Shirley performing an updated arrangement of the original Barry theme for "Thunderball" that was never used, "Mr.Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang". If EON doesn't want to use it as the main title that can run it over the end titles.

Without question it should be Shirley Bassey! The timing could not be more perfect; what a great way to honor John Barry!
She is great, and could of course do a fantastic job in her sleep. I feel that Bond needs to avoid nostalgia and do something new and vibrant that is disconnected from its past though.

Maybe I am not thinking clearly, but do they use songs that have already been released?
No they don't...but this song hasn't been released...played live...but not released....

I mentioned her song, "Born To Die" on the previous page:
I think she is good and pretty fantastic as a songwriter, but there are some who would disapprove and I would pick Bassey over Del Rey.
