Not sure if this is the right place for this post but damn!
RIP Syd Cain, met him once at a JBIFC convention at Wembley Conference Centre. He had fantastic tales of the happenings on set in front and behind the camera. One which comes to mind is while constructing the gator farm for Live & Let Die one of the crew was oblivious to the fact that one great muther XXXXXX was sneaking up to take a lump out of him. As it appeared to Mr Cain that the gator was about to strike the chippy turned, whacked the gator across the snout with a saw & said "SOD OFF!".
Mr Cain, you, Mr Stears, Mr Meddings, Mr Luxford, Mr George & many other unmentioned SFX pioneers made Bond what it is today. You will be sorely missed.

What a great guy. He was most helpful in telling us how he designed some of the props like the LALD Buzzsaw watch and even brought several of his original art to show us.
He went with us as we toured the Pinewood lot and introduced us to Cliff Cully who was at the studio painting that day.
R.I.P., Syd. It was a pleasure to have gotten to meet you.

I was fortunate to obtain several of his hand coloured designs for Goldeneye, and as a tribute I hoped others here might enjoy them.
Apologies for the poor photography but the originals are still in storage and these snaps were quick archive prior to my move.
Nice to see them again and to know they wound up in a good collection.
