Planet Ocean Titanium revelation?

I visited the Omega store on Bond Street to try on the new Planet Ocean Titanium, and got chatting to the store guy about the new Bond film, and he told me that there will be 3 Omegas tied to the film. and the shocking revelation is that the assistant manager had to go down to the film set with....a Planet Ocean Titanium in Black, with a Black bezel! So could this Blue Titanium to match Daniel Craig's eyes be ruse? He also mentioned that one of the other watches they are supplying is a De Ville Hour Vision for one of the other cast members - possibly Javier Bardem. It looks like this:

You heard it here first...

Also popped in to Church's to see my friend, the manageress, Helen, who has done the fitted and supplying of all DC's Church's in his films, and there will be no involvement in SkyFall for them. Tom Ford will be supplying all of the footwear for Bond this time around.

Bad news for the footwear. Good research though!

So far, the footwear that Bond has worn has not been Tom Ford, as even confirmed by TF reps...so, for now I think the waters of who is supplying what is still a bit muddy.

The shoes are probably these, Crockett & Jones 'Highbury'.

DC used to wear Crockett & Jones boots with his casual wear quite often.

Agree on the shoes (not to hijack a watch thread)....makes sense as DC wears CJ personally

I don't believe that the Titanium in Black has been released yet. The guy I spoke to said that there is always an embargo on the promotion of film tie-ins until 10 weeks before the film release date, and then only for 10 weeks after the film release. He did however mention February as a release of one watch used in the film, but it wouldn't be promoted as a Bond watch until 10 weeks before the film opens.

Actually, after a quick call to the Bond Street Flagship store, there never has been a Black Titanium Planet Ocean released. There was a steel PO with liquid metal bezel, a year or two ago, but the only Titanium available at the moment is the blue-faced one.

If it is not Titanium, then they has done something else to remove weight. It is MUCH lighter. That would explain the price difference between the blue and black, but again they are both much lighter in weight.

Spent some time with the PO Blue again today, this time with my wife in tow. She really like it and it does grow on you. The price tag is still too high IMHO, but I think if it is the SKYFALL watch, my bank account will be lighter.

Omega Houston think the watch is the Blue faced titanium PO.

Looked at it myself $8k seems high, and it feels so light the fakes are going to be in with a shout!

What about the new Omega Seamaster 300m Professionals:

There are 2 NEW versions with either the Black or Blue Face:

    om1.jpg

Could one of these be making a return for SKYFALL?

There are several difference to the versions brought out for Casino Royale:

The Bezel numbering is completely new and more modern (very similar to the Planet Ocean numbering) and they have lost the "waves" on the faces of the watch.

What I do not like on the Blue version is the "Black background" in the date window - the older model was white and suited the watch much better.

Other small differences include "Blue Super Lumi-Nova" on the hour and second hands.

Think I will stick with the QoS PO though.

The Blue Face Planet Ocean looks awesome - but I am not interested in having a "titanium" version.

For me half the appeal of this watch (I have the 45.5mm PO on with the stainless steel strap) is the weight - you know you are definitely wearing this watch and it could do some serious damage. I think the standard PO with stainless steel bracelet with all of the strap links attached comes in at about 222g.

If they were to offer the Blue Face PO as a Stainless Steel version (which I am going to wait for) then I am sold.

I think we will see the Blue Face PO in a cheaper Steel version, especially if its the Bond watch. Omega know that the average fan can't stump up too much cash, if I remember rightly my watch dealer told me the Quartz Seamaster is their best selling Omega due to the bond link and affordability!

Can anybody remember when the Casino and QoS watches were roughly unveiled in terms of the films release?
