Daniel Takes On the Politicians!

Daniel Craig is at it again, this time going after politicians who cozy up to actors to look cool. I first heard about this story on a net video, which you can catch here:

A very polite New York Times blog eliminates Craig's f-bombs and can be read here:

More fuel for the Craig-haters, I suspect. . .

Well, Daniel Craig certainly isn't one of those gentlemanly actors who keeps his personal thoughts to himself, is he? I wonder if Craig figures that he might as well be as brutally honest as possible if the reporters are gonna pester him...

I love Craigs ability to be able to say what he does without worrying (seemingly) about the possible backlash he could get (or does...?) plus he has this ability to speak his mind in a way, that is very dificult to argue with.

January 2012 GQ UK article about him wasn't so bad.

Let us know if you manage to arrange that one, I'm sure the whole of AJB echoes your sentiment!

Hmm, having read the first 100 pages of Dragon Tattoo (it really picks up) I would venture that Craig is trying to get into character a bit, as this is just what the slightly left-wing, no-nonsense financial journalist would say, though tbf it's not inconsistent with Craig's own past views. Come Skyfall, he'll be laying into bald blokes in tunics.

I remember one of his lamer comments when he said the problem with guns is that the bullet always finds its target,,,,,my first thought was, "You don't shoot a lot, do you?"

But, if I didn't watch a particular actor because of their opinions or politics I wouldn't be able to go to the movies or watch TV or listen to the radio...most of them are way to the left of me.

I feel like many of them are just hypocrites anyway. Richard Widmark is a good example, made a living off of playing bad guys with a gun but was very vocally anti-gun..just hypocrites..

Are you saying Richard Widmark should have gone around shooting people?

No, just that he made millions off of guns, but acted like us lower life forms had no right to them. One of his better roles was Jim Bowie in The Alamo, a man who brought his own gun to a fight.

I don't pay Hollywood too much attention. I do remember some reporters asking Brad Pitt about some political question, he answered, "Who cares what an actor thinks?" and drove off.
