Simple one this...

Would you like to see a James Bond TV series? Don't forget to let us know the reasons for your answer

Oh and it will probably never happen so remember this is just a bit of fun.

I've often thought an Animated series of the original stories would be good. We could see the villains as Fleming described them. Many of the stories have been broadcast as radio plays on BBC Radio 4 and others, so Animation could be added to these,
( without getting into all aspects of copyright law, It's just an idea

An animated series sounds interesting - bit like the Clone Wars etc.

Not everyone's cup of tea but could bring Bond to a wider (and even younger) audience?

Young James Bond as an animated series could work, but a proper tv series would be a mistake IMO, as I don't think that it'd carry the same impact that the big screen versions have on its audience.

I also love (even though it's frustrating as hell) the fact that there is a build up of rumours, gossip & expectations between the movies and the 2, 3 or whatever years gap heightens this even further - pretty much makes the experience all the better! A regular tv series slot would obviously negate this for me.

Interesting question though!

I think a period piece James Bond tv series could be good, set in the 1950s to early 60s. Something that has the writing style of Fleming but not a rehash of the Bond novels themselves.
I can see it as a mini series, 5 or 6 episodes. Nothing long winded or contemporary. Television can never compete with feature film budgets and should not try.

Slight misunderstanding about my Animated Bond Series, I'd like to see something like the Batman Animated series, very 1930's looking and more adult not in the James Bond Jr mould.

I agree. If this was the concept for a Bond TV series, I'd really love it.

I've often said I'd like to see a tv series - but as a period piece - real time Fleming era of mid fifties. Sort of filmed like Poirot. It would be good with a Conneryesque actor of around thirty to late thirties, great classic cars, fifties music and baddies in hats..

I could live with a live-action period revival of Mission Impossible done on the cinematic visual style level of Mad Men, with the espionage in full force and an elegant side, but not a Bond animated series. I don't think Bond's charm would translate well in animation as it does in descriptions or with live actors.

Well, what about a graphic novel? I know we have those comic strip books from the days of yore, but they're not on the same scale as the steam punk stuff.

I think a well done miniseries set in the 50s or 60s would be great.

Even a plot line where a current Bond is having to deal with a problem that started in the 60s and it would give the writers a chance to go back to the earlier time period for backgroundon MI6. For that matter, you could do a 60s bond having to deal with a leftover Nazi menace from the 40s.

I don't think it work as a TV series.

Mini-series, yeah that would work, help with the big gaps between Bond movies. That would be cool, based in the 50's, what would the name be?
