Are people cutting back?

Hi everyone,

Just quick question to get people opinions.

I have a handful of Sideshow collectibles and a range of autographs but they don't seem to sell on Ebay at all, which is quite frustrating sadly especially when Ebay has fees.

Even with trying to re-list items for no additional cost it is annoying seeing no bids come in, maybe I am doing something wrong.

Are people just not buying and collecting as much a they previously might have?

Matt.

I am involved in another area of collectibles (antiques) and I believe there has been some holding back from buyers in certain aspects within it. No doubt due to the current economic situation and no doubt a similar experience is being felt by other fields of collecting. When the world economy picks up you will likely see the reverse.

Yeah it's terrible, and at the end of it have ended up with Ebay wanting money for things that I still have :s

I tried all the usual tricks with Ebay too good title, photos and fair price

Rather wish I hadn't given it a go now really hehe

Only good thing is I still have my items :))

    Unless you are desparate to sell I'd keep hold of it for a couple of years and when things pick up put them up for sale -{

Could have done with the funds especially when going through everything and totaling everything up at lowest price but probably will keep them for another time.

The sad part was it made me want to add to my collection with other things :))

    Maybe another day though perhaps.

I have had to cut back on my collecting, mostly due to my college expenses not the poor economy. Since I attend school in Vermont rather than my home state Maine, I am usally buying food and gasoline for car. Only once in a great while do I purchase Bond stuff like my Thunderball coffee mug. Also I am glad that my parents got me the German Lobby card and the American poster for The Living Daylights for Christmas.

I'd echo nms' comments, though like anything, things go at the right price.....

As to the economy picking up, don't hold your breath...

But on the bright side, the eBay mkt for Bond always picks up as the excitement of a new film tales hold, and this year you hv the publicity for older films coming from the 50th....

So hang in there and don't take them off....

If you want to get rid of them and get good money, you may need to retain a little more time, better if it is 40 aniversary sideshow dolls

No. I guess it really depends on the kind of job you have and the likelihood of losing it. You could have a very low-end job and not cut back because you have a pension and you know you will always have your job waiting for you.
