This is a project that I have wanted to do for ages, and as Teppo kindly gave me his spare parts it is time to start.
This will be called The Bastard, bringing FE and SD parts together

ever since I saw the comparrison pics that were posted
up a while ago, of the SD and FE guns together, I
thought some day, I think theres going to be a hybrid of
the parts
looking forward to seeing the finished prop,
I am wondering how the build to weight ratio might be,
as I remember many saying the FE gun was very light in
weight and the SD gun having handled a few etc is
fairly heavy, just wondering about strain on say for
example, a heavy SD lighter and slide out breech on an FE
Cigarette case handle... I am not saying thats what your
choice of parts are, I am just curious as to how it would
effect the structure and construction?
my guess would be an FE lighter and slide, an SD pen,
an FE handle cigarette case and an SD Cuff Link, maybe?
great work as always! I take it a space will be created in
The Golden Gun Cabinet Display for The Bastard?

You are correct on the components -{
As far as technicalities go, FE's golden gun's lighter is substantial enough to support the weight of the heavier SD components. I'm guessing FE have cast the light components with threads included in the dies, either that or their tap is a little oversize lol. The threads are a little loose, but still fine to receive the SD pen.
One note is that the threads are not the same (would be nice wouldn't it?) so some modification is needed, not for the faint hearted.
Still, with a steady hand and a true lathe, you can achieve quite a cool effect. With the SD pen being bored right through, you can open the breech of the FE lighter and see straight through to the muzzle (nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel for a change) although I've yet to work out where the firing pin is supposed to be
