  As of 2013, the script is still being written for the new Disney's Haunted Mansion. Guillermo Del Toro will start producing the movie in February 2014. The story will include the Hat Box Ghost, first seen on the Disneyland ride during the first year in 1969, but since removed. Perhaps it will return to help promote the upcoming movie.

  I've always liked Del Toro. Pans Labyrinth was excellent, and The Orphanage and The Devil's Backbone were also very good. But I suppose they are probably much, much darker than what the haunted mansion will be. Cronos was ok, but didn't like it as much as the others mentioned.
