Saw the film for the second time yesterday. I did not comment on this after the first time I saw it because I thought I might have missed something. However, after seeing it for the second time I have to say that IMHO the most blatant, awful and uncalled for piece of product placement in the entire movie is the pair of sunglasses Bond wears on the island with Silva. I’ll try to explain why I think so. Bond enters the casino at night in his dinner jacket. After cashing in the chip and the fight with the bodyguards he has one hour to get to the boat so we can assume that he doesn’t go back to his hotel. When on the island he is wearing his dinner jacket again. Why would he take a pair of sunglasses with him in the pocket of his dinner jacket when he is visiting the casino at night? He might have found it on the boat, but it is a real coincidence that it is the same brand as his suit. Anyway, it doesn’t add anything to the scene and to me just feels shoehorned in to sell some sunglasses.
I also saw the film for the second time yesterday. I didn't notice the first time but definitely the second time that the sunglasses were out of place. Regardless of how he came to be carrying them it would have made more sense for him to be wearing them on the deck of the boat before he was captured. That would have looked more natural and felt less "shoehorned in" to sell some sunglasses.

The Barlaston based pottery firm has sold out of the iconic figurine named 'Jack' after the Union Jack flag. It will not be available before February 2013.
