    Movies are
    1. Skyfall
    2. Moonraker
Any ideas on any other movies. I think they might choose out there, lavish background films, I think Goldfinger will be one,

They might make another announcement at E3 in two weeks.

I am looking forward to this game, but I will have to wait until I see Skyfall either in theaters or when it comes out on DVD next year before I play 007 Legends. I hate to have a movie spoiled, even if it is just a small segment.

I would have thought that they would use the best movies from each of the actors but I don' t think Moonraker was very well received.

I only ask Activision: please please don´t screw it up again. Goldeneye reloaded was the worst bond game since Agent under fire. As someone said before on this forum, it´s clear activision don´t put the same effort on bond games like they do on modern warfare series. A Bond game with that levels of graphics, game experience and closely adapted to the movies would blow up as a new game of the decade, as goldeneye 64 did back on the 90´s. But no, las three games they have came out with a poor product, very confident were going to get it just because it has 007 on it .

Don´t get me wrong, I have always tried to focus on the postive things, I enjoyed very much Quantum of Solace game. But let´s face it: they can do better.

Activision are only the publishers, it's Eurocom who are developing the game. They also developed Goldeneye: Reloaded which I actually enjoyed.

Modern Warfare is made by separate developer altogether (Infinity Ward first and now with Sledgehammer Games). It's true that Activision do focus more on Modern Warfare, and as Modern Warfare is their cash cow it's only natural that they put more effort into advertising that over other games they publish and distribute.

Quantum of Solace was made by Treyarch, who also developed the non Modern Warfare Call of Duty games, and used the same engine as Call of Duty.

Seems like I'm really the only one who truly enjoyed Reloaded. It was amazing, challenging and a great retelling of the GoldenEye story.

I thought Quantum of Solace was good if you're a fan, Blood Stone was almost as good if you're a fan, and Goldeneye: Reloaded was good if you're a fan. None of them could stand up that well if you aren't already a fan of the source.

Activision gives the resources and direction for licensed games. They clearly seemed to have given the developers rights to just Craig, and using the already existing Call of Duty engine. An engine, which I despise for its dated looks, slippery animations, and overstayed welcome. It should have been replaced in 2008 or 2009 at the latest, but Activision is determined to keep it and not hold up their annual cycle of Call of Duty releases.

That engine is no longer considered one of the leading engines. It is just long overdue for an engine that pushes the technology's limits. Rather than looking like stale Call of Duty junk that could have come out in 2008 when the engine was already aging out.
  • JamesbondjrJamesbondjr Posts: 462MI6 Agent
The engine is certainly looking dated now. Heck, it looked dated a few years back but as you say, Activision will keep on churning out Call of Duty games as long as they sell well. The last COD game I played was MW2 and that persuaded me not to buy another :))

from what I seen on the site is look be promising but like other have said I hope to god that it not some lame excuse just to say sorry for the dull and crappy online play that came from reloaded, But there some potential in the hart as it where on thing that I would like to see is the weaponry as well as gadgets that match the film as it where like with the old bonds he used a Walther ppk and such.

With saying that I hope the sound of the gun fire sound like the real thing as I didn't like how the Walther p99 would sound the same in Goldeneye reloaded even if you had a suppressor on or not as well as more realism when it comes to bosses fights as the 006 fight just seem lame and offered little to challenge.

but saying that I hope that what is being show it just a tip of thing to come and I hope it a more better game then one that have come from activation that look have lost it sight on games like this.

I loved it as well. The main complaints seem to be coming from people who were expecting the game to be a proper remake of the N64 game, rather than a 'reimagination' like the developers promised. So in that respect, the developers didn't fall short of what they promised at all, people just misread them.

As for 007 Legends, I'm really looking forward to it. Combining multiple stories like this is a nice, original idea for a Bond game, and it'll give us a chance to play through some of the classic films that have never been made into games before. Of course, all the classic films included will have to be 'modernised' in a similar way to GoldenEye if they're all to support one story, but I liked how they modernised GoldenEye anyway so it's all good with me.

It's also good to see that the developers are 'going out there' a bit by including stories like Moonraker, which suggests that they won't hesitate to give the game the same level of anti-realism of the classic films.

Since we already know two of the six films to be featured in the game (Moonraker and Skyfall), some others I'd like to see, and which I can picture being in the game, are Goldfinger, Octopussy, Licence to Kill, and Tomorrow Never Dies.

The way I see it, films such as From Russia with Love and GoldenEye are less likely to be featured, GoldenEye especially, because they've already had entire games dedicated to them in the past. Tomorrow Never Dies seems plausible to me in spite of the old PS1 game, simply because that game wasn't particularly well-received. Dr. No seems unlikely because large amounts of it were the basis of the rather poor Rogue Agent, and the 'Blofeld trilogy' (You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and Diamonds are Forever) all seem unlikely because they would simply have to feature Blofeld, and you couldn't possibly feature Blofeld in the game without making him the main villain, whereas the primary antagonist will almost undoubtedly be Raoul Silva.

If either of the Dalton films is addapted I would rather see The Living Daylights used as it had everything that Licence to Kill lacked.

A quick interview about the game, including the information that the SkyFall level will be a free DLC release sometime after the game launches:

But see a proper remake will more than likely never happen, Rare is owned by Microsoft, Activision has the bond rights and Nintendo still owns a portion of the game. The only way that it might happen is if Nintendo can be convinced and then the PC and PS3 will be left out, not that they deserve GoldenEye in the first place, but that is beside the point.

The thing that gets me about the deal I've read was that Microsoft was going to allow the ENTIRE Rare library to be put on the Wii's Virtual Console. So games like Conker, Perfect Dark, Banjo, Jet Force Gemini and others but Nintendo turned them down.

So the next movie in Legends was revealed, and it's OHMSS!

I kind of figured it'd be in this game (one movie from each actor), but still cool to now know for sure.

Not sure if this came up but heard today that the Skyfall content will be available as free DLC after the mvoies release.
Keep in mind 007 Legends is being done by Eurocom, every Bond game that they have done (World is Not Enough on N64, 007 Nightfire, both GE Wii and Reloaded) has been very well done. I am very confident that they will make a good game out of this. My only concern is when they plan on releasing it, before Skyfall comes out, since the end part of the game is the new film, is doesn't really make sense to release the game first and spoil the movie.

Is that true, in that it's gonna be 1 film per each actor? I hope that's not true because I REALLY want to see LALD in this game, but the roger moore film has already been used up with moonraker (and for heavens sake, why? moonraker is universally one of the most hated bond films...)

It hasn't been confirmed, I'm just assuming that since it's supposed to be a celebration of the history of Bond, it would only make sense to include every actor (it would be kind of a dick move to leave someone out). Plus the numbers just add up well, six actors, six levels. I'm with you though on preferring to have a different Moore movie, I would have much rather had a TSWLM level than Moonraker.

If they are going to leave someone out it will be Dalton. Even in that recent clothes of Bond video they left him out I think.

But watching the OHMSS video, I don't get why Daniel Craig is even in this Legends game. EON is trying to say this is a new Bond, a complete reboot. Then we get Goldeneye remakes and this Legends game with Daniel Craig as Bond.

I'm just guessing, but could it be because it would be ungodly expensive to try and bring every other actor back? They tried something similar with From Russia with Love a couple of years ago and there is a reason it was bad. GoldenEye, even though it was advertised as such, was not a remake of the 1997 game, it was a retelling of the GoldenEye story in Craig's style of the character. Isn't the video game universe separate from the movies? If that is the case then Legends and GE Wii and Reloaded don't count and this is still a re-started series.

I don't have a problem with Craig being Bond throughout the game. The one thing I would have a problem with is if the did remake GoldenEye 64 and then put Craig in as Bond. But that will likely never happen.

One thing I wish they would stop in the Bond games that I find rather annoying is not being able to drop the main side arm. I think this was in Rogue Agent, I don't care what ANYONE says, that game was great! I think QoS had it too.

This is the way they seem to be approaching it. These are new adaptations of the stories with Craig tones layered into the imagination. They are not intended to be total remakes of the other actors' work with a recasting.

And does anyone else think 6 levels will be incredibly short? I mean, assuming the levels are around 30 to 60 mins, it will be around six hours max. And that's a generous guess. I can't recall games that have levels much longer than 50mins. Not to mention the fact that it actually only ships with 5 levels, and the sixth coming at an undisclosed later date (likely shortly after the film release or right around that time).

I almost can't imagine this being worth the initial retail $59.99. That's on the high end for gaming cost per hour of play. More so for a licensed annual series. I'll have to wait and see on this one.

Very short from the sound of things. But, knowing modern day games, they'll tack on a lot of DLC to try and keep it "fresh". Makes the overall price go north of $80 if you want more. The only thing I can think of that would make this better is if EVERY level had a stealth part, a driving part, and an action part. Make them all equally long (if they fit within the context of the level), and it might equal out to an overall longer game. Here's hoping, anyway.

Activision has revealed that Richard Kiel and Michael Lonsdale will be reprising their respective roles of Jaws and Hugo Drax. In addition will be film and game writer Bruce Feirstein. The trio will be joining the previously announced Daniel Craig, along with Skyfall actress Naomie Harris and co-star Rory Kinnear who'll be reprising his role as MI6 Chief of Staff Bill Tanner.
