    I can only hope it's better than the ludicrous The Secret Life of Ian Fleming, a TV movie made some 20 years ago and starring Jason Connery as Ian. Ugh. . .

    I saw "The secret life of Ian Fleming" only a few weeks ago as it was on some late night satellite channel.
    and it was awful, a really bad TV movie. With some terrible action sequences, Infact so Bad it was Funny.
    Fleming had an amazing life so hopefully this Movie will be better made, Looking forward to it. -{

    You're right supperdaddy, C Dance did play fleming. I remember it was better than
    "The secret life of Ian Fleming " just a bit slow for my taste.

    That one was the best bio they've done, and Dance looked pretty close to Fleming, though the actor they got to play Coward looked nothing like the man.
    Yes, it was slow. The music also tended to be a sort of Bond score, and they even showed scenes of Dance acting as if he were Bond, which was really strange. The problem was the obviously small budget, which left us with a very chopped up condensed version of his adult life. I look forward with a lot of reserve at this next attempt at his bio, because personally, I don't think any filmed version of his life could be done with any seriousness or justice unless it was done for PBS as a series. Let's face it, they really know how to do British historical dramas and bios and detective series.

    Well the main news with all this is that of course it's Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie, who won acclaim with his sci-fi film Moon. So it shouldn't be some rubbish made for TV job.

    Yep, Fleming's life is very interesting, especially the Andrew Lycett bio which is more indiscrete than Pearson's. It would work better as a mini-series though imo, there's so much to pack in. And who should play Fleming? I thought Fassbender would be good, going by his Inglorious B***** role, but he may be too old for the time they have in mind.

    Actually, did QT mess up the spelling on IB so it could get thru the censor detectors? It's a thought.
