In the trailer we see Bond getting shaved. So at-least he isn't bearded throughout.

He also gets his Bikini line done at the same time, But they decided not to include this in the final print. :))

    * like a lot of us, DC cannot grow a proper beard, so why bother?

One theory being floated is that JB's beard might have something to do with him posing as a player in the illicit art world to track Severine.

I would like the scene when Bond "gets back into business" he shaves, (or gets Eve to do it) puts on a tux and brings out his PPK

Not seen a post on this.... so:

Anyone know why Bond has the bum fluff on his face in the film?

New image? One he tires of quite quickly....

    A bit depressed?

    On a permanent bender?

Just had the Chelsea pad repossessed?

    Lost his razor?

Scarred after a failed mishun and therefore a bit eeeeemotional?

Or is it the SKYFALL equivalent of Lazenby's Hilary Bray specs?

    Anyone??????

And the correct answer was: on a permanent bender!!!!

If only there had not been that pesky villain, The Skyfall could have been something completely different! :)) :)) :)) :)) :))

In moderation Craig looks quite good with facial hair. I wouldn't have minded him having it for longer.

You cannot be serious surely ! It served it's narrative purpose, to show us a washed up Bond at the end of his rope, and for that I think it was great.

Plot or no plot, it was decided to have Bond sport the stubble. I suspect they totally want to smash the template to show that we truly have a new Bond and one for the times, smashing any notion, or rather the trappings of the "traditional Bond," with the choice of course to revive any of the traditional elements if it serves whatever design objectives that might come up.

Why do people try to add a bit more even when the answer has been found?

Come on guys, wrap it up and move on, case closed.

Shaving gets tiresome after awhile. Sometimes, you just don't care anymore.

While some Bond fans may think its sacrilegious for James Bond to have facial hair, I didn't mind him with his disheveled look.

I don't get all the fuss about the beard thing really. Timothy Dalton had plenty of stubble in numerous scenes in Licence to Kill some 23 years before Skyfall. Big deal and yawn, zzzzzz
